I have had a GLC coupe for the last two years, which has sports suspension. I replaced it with an Audi SQ5 and can unequivocally state that the Audi surpasses the GLC in performance. If comfort is a priority, I would seek a Mercedes equipped with air suspension, since the Mercedes sports suspension is designed for handling rather than comfort, in my humble opinion. The E400d is classified as a saloon or coupe. I do not see any more riding height, to be honest. I would avoid the engine since it is susceptible to cam follower and roller bearing problems.

The air conditioning unit is not cooling effectively.

The vacuum test is inferior in accuracy compared to the pressure test, which, when combined with dye, is more effective in identifying leakages. -
Tyre or bearing noise - The garage indicates tyre noise.

Diagnosing wheel bearings may be challenging. Noise is often present without play, which worsens when roughness is perceived, followed by further deterioration and eventually observable play. During the journey, upon hearing the humming sound, gently engage the brakes, accelerate, and maneuver away from the straight path. Should the loudness alter during any of those operations, it is probable that a wheel bearing is deteriorating. Which one thereafter poses the difficulty! -
Purchase them from Mercedes to ensure their authenticity and compatibility (and they will break similarly to the previous ones 🙂 )

Numerous diagnostic scanners and some applications will code or register a fresh battery. -
Chassis failure notification with roof and windows inoperative

A fault code scan may elucidate the issue. You may also attempt the reset by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. Additionally, have you registered or coded the new battery to the vehicle? -
Part # X pertains to Mercedes Benz. Extract the obsolete brake pads and conduct a comparison.

Conversely, upon purchasing the same vehicle as you did just over a year before, I violated the FMBSH and sought assistance from my local independent mechanic. The labour rate at MBS is more than fifty percent lower than that of my local primary dealer, and I have consistently received excellent service, quality repairs, sound advice, and occasional favours from them. I had a suboptimal experience with the main dealer when the E400 had a recall last year; the process was excessively prolonged, and they left the driver's window open during a thunderstorm, offering no apologies, just a few paper towels to absorb the water inside. It is a chaotic environment for the three-year PCP service plan operations.

I apologise for my error; I believe your feedback pertained to a Main Dealer. My vehicle was taken to an independent dealership.
-
The dealer offered to reduce the value of my car by £1200 if I did not plan to have a B service performed. I chose to utilise my service plan, which ultimately cost approximately £850.
-
Consider attempting this alternative; it offers a more comprehensive solution and may prove effective.

I recently sold an AMG that need servicing. My curiosity has increased following the completion of the program. It was effortless for me since it was included in a service plan.

The diagram below illustrates the components required by your friend. By consulting the diagram and the corresponding item numbers, you can reference the parts list below to obtain the M-B part numbers. It is highly unlikely that these parts are still in stock, but you may enquire with your dealer or send a copy of this to Niemoller to determine if they can assist with the glass featuring the cutout, as well as the small brackets necessary for the mirror.
-
Another potential source is the M-B Oldtimer Centre, which occasionally recycles components from dismantled vehicles; however, ensure you are seated prior to reviewing their costs!

The diagram below illustrates the coupe doors, with opening quarterlights; this is sourced from the old M-B parts catalogue, hence components depicted may not be accessible.

I apologise, but I have been unsuccessful in locating the additional components for that mirror. I believe you will require an alternative right side quarterlight glass, featuring a cut-out for the mirror, as well as potentially a fitting bracket. I must commence work immediately, but I shall return later this evening. I will ascertain whether I can locate this model in the EPC, which may provide additional details—and maybe numerous unavailable components!

This seems to be the appropriate right side mirror for that vehicle; nevertheless, there are two complications: These mirrors resemble those installed on my W114 saloon, as well as the W116 and W123 models; they are affixed to a little triangular part at the bottom front corner of the one-piece door window, rather than being mounted on the glass itself. Another thing to consider is that, although your friend's vehicle is a left-hand drive (LHD) model, the mirrors differ between LHD and right-hand drive (RHD) cars due to the varying angles of the frames, which are designed for visibility by drivers seated on the left or right side. I am confident that the one below is intended for a left-hand drive vehicle, considering the dealer is located in Germany. It is uncertain how your friend would accommodate that form of mirror onto his vehicle; he will likely want an alternative quarterlight glass with a cutout for the mirror, as well as a potential mounting bracket. I have never encountered a coupe featuring that sort of mirror, only the previous design depicted above. A buddy of mine in Glasgow possesses a W114 coupe, 280CE, right-hand drive, with quarterlights and the older design mirrors. A mirror designed for a right-hand drive vehicle will not be compatible with a left-hand drive vehicle; although it may be physically affixed, the angle will not accommodate a driver positioned on the left. I do not intend to sound overly pessimistic, but I also do not want your friend to purchase an ineffective item. It is advisable to contact Niemoller and clarify that your acquaintance possesses a vehicle that has never been equipped with a passenger side mirror, enquiring about the necessary components for its installation. I had previously contacted them, and they do converse in English; their proficiency in English surpassed my German, despite my having spent a year in Germany and acquiring a considerable amount of the language!

The quarterlights on such car must remain closed; they open on other models. Allow me to examine briefly.
