I'm in favour of swapping out the springs with sport or avantgarde ones. If you are unsure of what you need and happen to live near a Mercedes dealership, I recommend visiting their parts counter. Provide them with your car's year and specifications, and enquire as to whether there is a different part number of spring available for the Avantgarde spec version of that same year. Write down the part number and purchase them (not necessarily from the dealership). If you already have a spring compressor tool, all you need to do is find a garage and have them replace them out. Is your vehicle equipped with standard steel front and rear springs? Some models may have air springs in the back, which may be easily identified by removing the rear wheel.

That's great. Look through the parts catalogues for both your specification and a comparable Sport or Avantgarde from the same year and engine size. I think the only thing that could be different are the springs, but you never know. You may tell the owner what to order by comparing part numbers.

A single functional decoding site has eluded me at the moment. To the best of my knowledge, I've tried six. The message "Vin not found" or "Incorrect Vin#" keeps popping up. The only certain option is to pay around £22 for a comprehensive analysis from a business called Car Vertical. It would make my day if you could tell me about a functional decoding website.

After looking at many AMGs with painted callipers, I can say with confidence that it is not dependable. Without exception, a PP is my top pick, barring a later MY with normal diff.
-
Like with other PPs, I'm assuming it's option P30. Is that right?

Salutations everyone, I'm about to witness an R231 SL63 that was made before the 2013 FL. It would mean a lot to me if someone could verify that the rear limited-slip differential is an option (471). The code wording strangely suggests a locking front diff?! Differential lock for the AMG front axle, acceleration skid control (ASR), and mechanical locking disc What is the option code for the performance pack, and how can I tell whether it has the extra power? It appears to have the LSD but no power boost, which is strange. Yours truly.

Screw that, I'll build a bespoke manifold, attach two T66s, and mount the intercooler on the top of the car.

If I hadn't gone on a whole Scrooge rant, that is what I would have proposed.

Buying that automobile would be the worst financial mistake you could make. Do Get something reasonable to spend your money on; you'll be doing yourself a service. I won't be nasty, impolite, or pissy if I say this, but it's astonishing that you're investing in a 21-year-old automobile that may explode under increased acceleration (because you have no idea what the inside is like) instead of using that money toward your education.

Delays in NHS Blood Deliveries Caused by Potholes
Lemmand replied to FrostyTomato's topic in General
Over the weekend, I had a comparable discussion about potholes with another person. We both agreed that the worst thing is that drivers and riders are so preoccupied with crashing into craters that they fail to look more than three feet ahead of their vehicle for possible hazards. -
I saw that you have a plug on your table; was that ineffective?

My recommendation would be to remove the remaining fragments of the damaged insert and then secure it using a method similar to this, using adhesive or hot glue. Considering the plug's shallow depth, it's an inexpensive gamble to see whether it works.

Do you happen to have a pair of staggered AMG Style IVs? Those wheels do sit very deep in mine, so I'll be curious to see how you fare.

I don't think the gearbox oil has been changed before, but I've just had the car since December. The oil was changed at 62,000 miles. The prior owner may have been a city driver, but I've only owned the car since December, so it's possible they were.
-
Since it was sent to them by the garage from whom I purchased it, I'm taking a wild guess, but I can't be positive. Tomorrow, it will be taken to a nearby mechanic for another inspection, however I am not expecting very optimistic results 🙄.

Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could lend me a hand. There have been problems with the transmission in my 2017 W176 a200d Automatic (62k miles). Several warning signals appear on the dashboard (see images) and I suddenly lose control while driving. I had to coast to the hard shoulder because it happened the other day in the fast lane of the highway. It was not fun! It can only be started by coming to a complete stop, shifting into park, and then back into drive. At any speed and in any driving mode, this is possible. There is no engine management light and no fault codes are kept. A Merc specialist checked the software for updates, changed the oil in the gearbox, and attempted to read any problem codes (none were stored). Even with the oil change, it's still happening, so I'm scared to drive it because I have no idea when it will happen again. I would much appreciate any assistance.

Just as when you buy a car, there are other conditions. There might be a lot of problems with an unused vehicle for that amount of time. Although the later 7-speed isn't unreliable, the earlier 5-speed is famous for its extreme reliability; yet, both require proper servicing. "Excellent reviews from the service points"—what exactly does that mean?

Yes. First things first: 1. Two rear bellows that are new. 2. A system of pipes that supply air to the bellows 3. A replacement valve block. Beyond that, it has a ten-year lifespan.

One of our C-class features a 3G communications module. Thus, the 3G connection is inoperable; nevertheless, 2G is still utilised for real-time traffic. Years ago, the internet connection was supposedly "switched off," but that's a different tale. My wife may still monitor the status of our vehicle using the Mercedes Me app on her phone. This suggests that it can "speak" to the vehicle. Presumably, this is occurring over 2G. Seeing the vehicle's position and having the ability to lock it remotely are not supplementary features that we pay for. To far, my sole experience with diagnostic tools has been with OBD-II plug-in devices.

The 3G network has already closed, in my opinion; it is not "going" to close. Neither my location nor what appears to be yours has any 3G coverage.

If the torque converter is located underneath, remove the cover to check for a leak in the back crankshaft seal. The gearbox is being serviced.
