CleverPixel
Since acquiring my 2018 Evoque, I have noticed an intermittent occurrence of an unusual rubbing sound while using the reverse gear. Although not a constant occurrence, I am becoming aware that it occurs with greater frequency after rainfall. Below is a hyperlink to the video. Do you have any hypotheses on the potential cause? Has anybody encountered the same problem?
FreexPatty
After some negotiation, the dealership ultimately consented to replace the rear brakes on my sister's Evoque under warranty due to the recurring noise experienced when reversing. Resolved the issue. After two unsuccessful efforts to persuade the uncooperative service adviser to address the issue, she ultimately elevated the matter to the service manager. Completely superfluous service encounter for a high-end brand. The issue should have been resolved on the first try. Upon hearing the sound, I immediately identified it as a brake issue and instructed her to forward this information to the adviser. His retort was ineffectual, consisting just the phrase "brake dust".
Angurita
Greetings. I am experiencing same issues with my Evoque, which was purchased brand new in October. The precise sound begun two months ago. I have engaged in several discussions with my nearby automobile dealership situated in Birmingham. There are several reasons that are too repetitive. However, I am optimistic that I will provide them with this webpage and have a more favourable reaction.
Wordcar
I have the same issue - the noise undeniably exacerbates after rainfall or a high dew point. My vehicle emits such a high level of noise that it has the ability to awaken the neighbouring individuals as I back out of my driveway in the morning. I have brought my vehicle to the dealership where I purchased it on at least 6 separate times, and despite their assurances that the issue has been resolved, it continues to persist. I was inadvertently exposed to an email discussing the need of informing clients about the anticipated loudness resulting from the specific materials used. It was reported that there was a significant number of claims for parts warranty, and we, as consumers, were informed that no action could be taken. They were not responsible for it. I am delighted to inform you about this. I suspect that there is a concealment taking place in this situation. The service standards at Aylesbury Landrover have been really disappointing. We must physically enter the premises and patiently wait in the reception area in order to communicate with anyone, since our telephone inquiries are consistently unacknowledged. I will also submit my movie for you to see its captivating allure.
VibrantShin
Kindly submit the email. After purchasing my Evoque from Solihull LR, I noticed a recurring noise within a week. Initially, I didn't pay much attention to it. However, in the second week, I decided to call LR and they promptly scheduled a service appointment for my vehicle. I have made many attempts to communicate with them about the noise issue. It has recurred, and I have recently engaged in an extensive conversation with the manager, who informed me that it is a recognised 'condition' rather than a defect. Essentially, I am expected to tolerate it. I kindly request that you provide me with the email. Additionally, I am curious to learn if the problem has been fixed and, if so, the method by which it was done. Thank you very much
depofly
I am encountering the same issue, and they are attributing it to dust on the brake. What actions were taken on your vehicle?
Meltarb
I am experiencing the same issue with my 2018 Evoque. The brakes and rotors of my vehicle, which has accumulated less than 50,000 kilometres, need replacement according to my local dealer. The cost is $2200 and it is not eligible for warranty coverage. 😡
OmahaKnot
The issue and the noise are identical. There are several justifications that everyone here is likely familiar with. The performance of Farnell Land Rover in Leeds, UK, as well as Land Rover UK, was quite unsatisfactory. Persistent.
Seconsu
Greetings! I would want to provide an update on my earlier article, sharing my own experience in the hope that it may be beneficial to you and others. The Land Rover store in my area retained possession of my vehicle for a duration of 14 days in order to carry out many distinct repairs. The manager informed me that the exhaust system of the Evoque is a prevalent problem that leads to the noise. After replacing my exhaust, the sounds ceased to occur. Due of my overwhelming displeasure and concerns about potential future issues, I have subsequently exchanged it for a GMC. I retained it for a duration of 3 months subsequent to the replacement of the exhaust, during which no more sounds or concerns were observed. I hope this information proves beneficial and I wish you the best of success!
Micobe
I acquired my 2017 Range Rover Evoque in March 2020. From the very beginning, there has been a profound noise that is especially unpleasant during cold weather and/or when the vehicle is stationary for extended periods. The auditory occurrence arises while I am engaging in the act of reversing or using the steering wheel. Upon acquiring the automobile during the Covid pandemic, I noticed that the dealer from whom I bought the car failed to reproduce the sound. However, I was unjustly made to believe that this problem was either my own or a figment of my imagination. Exasperated, I brought my vehicle to a different dealership in my area just before the warranty expired earlier this year. One year later, they claimed that they were unable to reproduce the sound. Today, six months later, I brought my vehicle, which currently has a persistently poor sound, to Big O Tyres for an oil change and other maintenance tasks. Upon reporting the issue, I was informed that it is a widely acknowledged problem recorded by RR. However, they have not classified it as a recall-worthy issue, since there is no viable remedy other than repurchasing all the affected vehicles as defective. Furthermore, the Big O team has said that according to the official notice, the problem may be temporarily resolved by installing new rear brake pads, however the noise will inevitably reoccur. While it may be manageable for myself and anyone in my vicinity to cope with this complaint, the concern arises when I need to sell the vehicle. How is it possible for things to occur when I am being truthful? Had I been aware of this problem, I would not have bought this automobile... I am astonished that LR/RR have not faced any legal action over this matter so far! Extremely dissatisfied RR proprietor.
Tearcarl
I am experiencing the same problem. LR/RR should have initiated a recall for these faulty automobiles. The noise persists until today, despite many brake replacements. Each time I raise a complaint, they refuse to address the issue now that the car is no longer under warranty. I agree that legal action should be taken against them.
Syncephe
I own a 2016 Envoque and have been experiencing the same problem for many years. At first, I believed that I need new brakes, but I was informed that my brakes are in good condition. Due of my discomfort with the noise, I made a financial contribution to have the brakes changed, despite the fact that it was unnecessary. The sound persisted. RacingNight
I own a 2016 Range Rover Evoque. Purchased the vehicle with an odometer reading of 32,000 miles. It was an impeccable automobile for a year. In the second year, I had the same issue with the sound, changed the brake pads, and discovered that the backup camera malfunctioned. However, I realised that the cost of replacing it is beyond my means. This phenomenon occurs during rainfall, foggy weather, particularly in the early and late mornings when there is mist present. My automobile, a Rolls-Royce, often attracts ridicule and causes me embarrassment. There are several issues with this vehicle. Most likely, I will exchange it for a Honda.
