Where have all the insects disappeared?

I recently washed my SL after completing a 900-mile journey to Scotland via Newcastle and the North East coast. Surprisingly, there were very few insects on the vehicle. I recall a time when my screen would be covered with splatters even after a little drive. However, I am now curious as to where all those splatters have disappeared to. Has this been seen by others?

In the last 10 years, I have seldom had the unpleasant incident of inhaling flies while riding my bicycle, and I have also managed to prevent them from entering my helmet. Previously, it was a consistent source of danger or pleasure.

Using an open face helmet when riding a motorbike enhances the ability to identify bugs, and now that you mention it, I haven't had any insect splatters this year.

There is a significant decline in the number of butterflies, which is easily seen. However, the more concerning issue is the negative effect on pollination, which directly impacts our food sources.

On Sunday afternoon, a group of individuals were intentionally taking their own lives by jumping in front of my automobile. I haven't seen this much in a long time.
Varying climates undoubtedly exhibit varying degrees of insect populations. In California, they may be rather rare. After around thirty minutes in Florida and Alabama, the screen may become opaque, hindering visibility.
One morning at the Talladega Speedway, I was met by a gate attendant who asked me, "How are you doing today?" Are you experiencing a software glitch or is there an issue with your computer screen?
This serves as a vivid representation of the everyday challenges faced by drivers in such areas.

Throughout our whole week of travelling in Europe, particularly in Switzerland, one thing that both I and others saw was the conspicuous absence of insects on the front of our vehicles. After four days, we cleaned the automobiles and I saw a mere six insects on the front of my car. After two weeks, I returned to the UK, namely to North Yorkshire's moors. After driving for one hour, I saw that there were around 200 bugs stuck to the front of my vehicle.
However, there has been a span of two weeks since that time, so it is possible that circumstances have altered in the meantime.

Indeed, the unfortunate occurrence of an evening spent cycling is often marred by the unpleasant experience of inadvertently ingesting a significant number of little flying insects known as midges, causing discomfort and annoyance.

I have just returned from a vacation in a rural cottage in the Dordogne area. The individual in charge said that there is a noticeable absence of wasps, bees, and butterflies this year. Indeed, he is correct. There was indeed an absence of it.
It is really concerning.

Last night, I saw a captivating documentary on dragonflies, which I find really intriguing. (Slightly off-topic πŸ˜‰ )
Despite having existed for 300 million years, numerous species in France are facing extinction due to chemical poisoning or habitat degradation. It would be tragic to lose such magnificent beings.

All of them are present on my motorbike leathers, helmet and bike! As I departed Hampshire last weekend, I saw a little meteor shower, but strangely enough, not a single meteor landed on the window of my company van. Unusual
