Greetings, everybody.
What is the optimal temperature range for the functioning of a BMW X3 (year 2013) F25 3.0d with 258 horsepower?
I saw the needle surpassing a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius. Is this considered typical or within the expected range of behaviour or circumstances?
I would much appreciate receiving any technical material on the matter.

The oil temperature gauge is the appropriate choice, since it is not designed to measure water temperature. A temperature range of 100-125 degrees Fahrenheit is considered acceptable for monitoring oil temperature.

Indeed, my first impression aligns with yours - the symbol shown on the gauge has a striking resemblance to the iconic lamp associated with the character Aladdin. Thank you for your kind feedback.

A value of 100 is considered within the range of what is considered normal. If the temperature exceeds 100, specifically up to 105, the diesel particulate filter (DPF) undergoes regeneration. During the regeneration process, the GT model of my 530d vehicle reached a speed slightly over 100, however the 535d model did not see any change in speed.

Apologies, you are correct. I inquired about my ability to perceive or comprehend when the automobile is in a dpf regeneration mode. Are there any more symptoms, apart from an elevated oil temperature, such as a decrease in power?

If you possess the necessary knowledge, you will be able to detect a regeneration event. There has been a little rise in the temperatures of the oil and coolant. The automobile will upshift at 1600 rpm instead of the predetermined shift points. When you release the accelerator, there is a little delay of around half a second before the vehicle completely loses power. If you bring the vehicle to a halt while it is undergoing a regeneration process, you will be able to perceive the warmth when opening the door, in addition to hearing the sound of the fan. Disable the car's engine during the regeneration process, at which point the fan activates to lower the temperature.
