  1. That is a really thoughtful reply. I am really appreciative. Throughout are a few excellent pieces of advice. There are 127,000 miles on the vehicle. It is a 2010 model year. Instead of a service book, it just includes a few haphazard receipts. It appears that the air filter has been neglected for a while, given its state and the number of unresolved issues.
  2. These will fall if the panel is removed carelessly. Here, YouTube is great. I can rebuild it, but it's going to be a real pain. You may find new replacement panels on eBay. While it's out, change the bulbs in the back; that's probably why someone took it apart and destroyed it.

  4. I don't know what you mean, but I would check the wiring leading to the engine control unit (pilot bush). The 'o' rings are movable.
  5. After giving the seal a thorough washing with white spirit, I proceeded to run a bead of silicon across its inside and exterior. On occasion, I would check for signs of seepage by running a white tissue beneath the turbo connect.
  6. “Why” is the key point. Other points made thereafter, nevertheless, may provide light.
  7. A creeping mission! There will be a complete fluid change and the cost that goes along with it. You should rethink the first idea if the leak isn't severe and if you don't have a lot of emotional investment in the car. Simply add more and watch the results unfold. Note that the initial fluid loss could be substantial if the fluid is draining or leaking to the level of the leak. If you had half a litre of fluid and a plastic funnel, you'd be able to tell which way to jump.
  8. Where is the missing oil? That's the query that came to mind. I guess it depends on how bad the leak is if it needs fixing.
  9. That isn't the hard part. Instructions will accompany any info that deals with checking the level - handbook?
  10. There are two advantages if a drain plug is available. Before you add new oil, remove the old, worn-out fluid. Then, use the torque converter volume as a reference to determine the fill quantity. But that's only true if the drain is plugged in.
  11. So, you're not "big on skills," huh? Is it possible to remove the current fluid using the drain plug? Just because...
  12. There is typically a predetermined order to inspect the levels in an automatic gearbox, such as checking the temperature and manually shifting gears. If you know someone who is experienced with this model, they can provide advice.
  13. The large pulsation damper is responsible for the spikes that activate the light. Just to be safe, I'd swap everything out, then properly bleed the system before the rodeo.
  14. That may occur if the system contains air or if the valves are not operating properly, leading to the reservoir being overfilled with pressure.
  15. An ABC problem exists if CHF11S is present in an unexpected place. Verify that the system has been adequately bled before opening it.
  16. This resembles a topic that our dearly missed member Television would have expounded upon with great alacrity, either here or on MBOA. A search for threads by Television on the issue may yield beneficial results.
  17. Is your radio a double DIN or single DIN? If it is single DIN and there is a cubby hole beneath it, you may be able to acquire a blank panel to install gauges. Alternatively, if there is an unused ashtray, that could serve as a potential area for them.
  18. Is that the model known for frequent CVT failures?
  19. That sounds excellent; but, downsizing from the RAV4 must be challenging, as the C-HR appears far smaller.
  20. Place confidence in the stick The stick is divine. I am old-fashioned and lack faith in such technologies.
  21. Indeed, as I had anticipated. The RAC representative first said that, upon further inspection and attempting to start the vehicle, he concluded that the chain was functioning properly; the specific sounds he was monitoring remain unclear to me. I am located in Norwich, hence apart from others.
  22. Hello, I appreciate any assistance with this matter, as I am now at a loss and incurring significant expenses at the garage. The vehicle has accumulated 108,000 miles. While travelling on the highway last week, it abruptly shut down, resulting in a steering lock. The car currently would not start. When trying to start the automobile, the engine revs barely reach around 200 RPM and it fails to ignite. The only issue with the vehicle pertains to the Cam Position sensor, which has been changed; yet, the problem persists. The garage has indicated that the camshaft is not making any effort to rotate at starting. I am reluctant to continue using funds and am inclined to mitigate my losses. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Thank you one again.
  23. Impressive. That is such a bold statement, but nevertheless, astonishing. One minor concern is that one of the Pirelli run-flat tires has a 2018 date stamp. We used the tire's date as a negative factor in a recent acquisition with a buddy over a newly recommissioned vehicle he acquired.
