  1. Have you checked out this forum? Many long-time x5owners have acquired much information about them.
  2. Yes, I no longer have the vehicle that supported wired Android Auto. It's a pity since it attracted attention from boy racers who would suddenly emerge and challenge it to races. Fortunately, I was able to manage my way out of those circumstances. In the past, I mostly used the MB navigation system, since Copilot was incompatible with Android Auto and lacked features like speed limit information, which I found preferable to Google Maps about seven years ago. Important to mention for anyone considering adding Android Auto/Apple CarPlay to a vehicle with a facelift using Star diagnostic tools. Considering convertibles, but find the c63 to be expensive at more over 30k. The F8X M4s are currently priced in the mid $20,000s, thus the opportunity to purchase a 205 model has passed for me in the near future.
  3. I have used Android Auto in five vehicles now and will be installing it in my sixth car, an e93 M3, on March 6th. Out of the four cars I own, I replaced the head unit in my e46 M3 with a new one. The other three Mercedes and one BMW have a Limcet box that connects to the existing head unit, allowing you to use either the stock system or access Android Auto wirelessly via the system display using an auxiliary connection. There are likely more advanced systems than limcet, but that is the technology my fitter uses. I also have a reversing camera installed simultaneously if it is not already there. Only one vehicle I purchased, the GLA 45, came with Android Auto pre-installed, but required the phone to be connected via USB. My 2018 C63S, equipped with smartphone integration, did not include Android Auto, which was unexpected. Had to get it via a third-party container.
  4. An acquaintance of mine, David (rest in peace), performed the act by locating a road recently covered with chippings and executing it there. He never figured it out, but he was elderly.
  5. Use a masonry nail and a tiny hammer to fix it.
  6. £1.5k for a screen, wow. I believe I paid a £70 deductible, although my cars are not very new.
  7. My intuition seems accurate. Some gasket seals, such as K seal, utilise copper while others use stainless steel. It is difficult to discern whether the substance in question is metal shavings, dust, or overspray. If it were indeed metal shavings, they would not be visible. The liquid in the image appears more like water than oil. If it is oil, then the level is excessively high. Could you provide more context about the image? Where is the oil cap located?
  8. I dislike doing it, but all my passwords are stored on my Chromebook.
  9. It might be a gasket seal, often including copper or silver flakes. If so, it may indicate head gasket issues from previous owners. Merely an estimate.
  10. The wheels are composed of three pieces, with just the lip section being made of carbon. The barrel and face are not carbon. Absolutely do not restrain them!
  11. Are there any visible discolorations on the radiator fins caused by the evaporation of coolant? What is the purpose of the expansion tank cap? Have any hoses been changed during a recent maintenance session, or are there any instances of old hoses breaking in the vicinity of the clamp? When you mention that the coolant seems unclean, are you referring to its greasy appearance?
  12. There is an accurate replica in close proximity to my location that has the correct ecto1 licence plate. Here is 50% of one that I saw recently. (I am aware that the picture is of poor quality and have already received complaints from my supervisor)
  13. I will provide more elaboration later, but it is important to note that there is no scientific foundation for the use of "night driving tints" in a therapeutic context. Wearing coloured lenses at night, in the absence of light, is very undesirable. All favourable feedback is only anecdotal and lacks substantiation in a peer-reviewed article.
  14. MB refuses to repair the bearing since it likely does not appear as an individual component on their Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC). MB dealers are technicians, not mechanics. They prioritise intuition above intellect. I find it unlikely that they would engage in the meticulous task of using a bearing puller and press, unlike a mechanic. Acquire the springs from MB. After removing the hub and bearing, your technician will proceed to replace the bearing with a new one. There are several locations that provide bearings. Ensure that he does not get an inexpensive one. FAG is a leading company.
  15. I have two sets of wings that are free from rust available for sale in Texas. I would be pleased to sell them to anybody who can determine the method of transporting them to the United Kingdom. Consequently, I will ensure that all my belongings remain free from rust, as is customary in Texas.
  16. If you inquire with Judd, it is probable that your discussion will deviate from the intended topic.
  17. Compare prices and options from different Kia dealerships by visiting the official Kia website. Each of them quotes in a distinct manner. Furthermore, there are Kia approved service facilities that provide even more affordable prices.
