  1. It seems you were hesitant to invest £175 (or perhaps even less) on a diagnostic fee, which, had the headlamp not been damaged, likely would have led to some goodwill shortly after the warranty expired. Now, however, you find yourself £350 in and still no closer to a resolution?
  2. How many miles or months past the warranty is the car? If there was no accident damage, why didn't you request a goodwill contribution from MB? Regarding the replacement. Is the part number identical to the original? If that’s not the case, it might not be compatible, or, if you’re fortunate, it could require some coding.
  3. Disregarding the merits of the AdBlue Delete, you might address the existing issue with the AdBlue level sensor by substituting the AdBlue tank with a pre-owned unit from eBay. However, AdBlue complications are typically recurrent and expensive to rectify; I recommend repairing the vehicle rather than trading it in prior to the emergence of another AdBlue problem. It is unfortunate, since these vehicles are otherwise exceptional.
  4. Every 6,000 miles or 12 months, the vehicle had servicing, so I presume it is in good condition. The pipes and air filter were inspected by my father during the car's examination. Consequently, it is quite perplexing.
  5. I have just acquired a meticulously maintained e250 CDI w212 Blue Efficiency estate to replace my c200 CDI Blue Efficiency w204, as we are anticipating the arrival of our third kid and want a larger vehicle. My father, a technician with over 40 years of experience, and I examined the vehicle and identified that the only issue was the significantly increased engine noise during acceleration compared to my previous C200 CDI. The engine had a pronounced grumble during acceleration. Is this typical? Aside from the loudness, the engine performs well and accelerates powerfully. Additionally, all sound deadening materials are intact.
  6. Indeed, possessing a decade of technological superiority in battery production over the West, coupled with far lower manufacturing costs, has proven to be a considerable benefit. While expediting market entry is advantageous. While it is simple to advocate for 'building a wall', seeing China's cities brimming with advanced battery-powered buses prompts the question, 'Why should we exclude ourselves from such progress?'
  7. Excellent article. The manufacturers prioritise EBIT and the adverse impact on volume attributed to the Chinese economy, rather than the harm inflicted by Chinese automotive makers or electric vehicles, although others may seize upon those points.
  8. R48 indicates that the sensor in your thermostat is defective.
  9. Has any recent work been done on it? Is there a record of fuel filter replacement? Have you inspected the gasoline at the filter by cycling the ignition?
  10. I presumed such, but other specifics were lacking, so it is prudent to seek clarification.
  11. Petrol or Diesel? R48 seems to function as a temperature sensor inside the thermostat. If this fails, the ECU may be unable to determine the appropriate values, however I would have expected it to still start.
  12. Fuel type: Petrol or Diesel; what is the vehicle's mileage? The manual will indicate the position of the fuses. Has any maintenance been performed on the vehicle previous to the starting issue? Preliminary considerations suggest insufficient fuel pressure; nonetheless, it is essential to conduct a diagnostic scan for fault codes. Can you arrange for it to be retrieved to a garage? If it was serviced by Mercedes in the last year, you will own Mobilo breakdown coverage.
  13. They produced several units of these; they are almost identical to the 2.0 in all respects, with a standard 8v M102 engine.
  14. Engage the gear and provide a forceful push, shifting it slightly forward before attempting to start the engine again (out of gear, of course!).
  15. Ensure that the selector transitions into the park position correctly before initiating the start, if it is automated. Perhaps consider posting a little video clip? 🙂
  16. Have you seen the "similar threads" about the Viano/Vito that are just under this one? They discuss an air conditioning line delivering refrigerant to the evaporator under the fuse box and issues arising from a retaining clip. To what extent do you engage in do-it-yourself activities? Could you allocate around thirty minutes to disassemble and inspect? The skill level seems to be rather basic, and the tools required seem to be minimum.
  17. Mercedes air conditioning The evaporator in the dashboard emits a hissing death rattle sound when the gas pressure diminishes. If the noise is really this, it may not indicate a problem with the dashboard, which would be advantageous.
  18. The weight difference between the ML and the CLS SB is barely 10%, hence it is unlikely that there would be any issues. To the best of my knowledge, if the diameters and offsets are similar, the wheel dimensions should also be identical, resulting in them being the same. I will determine the similarity of the wheel bosses' thickness by comparing a wheel bolt from the CLS with a wheel bolt from the ML. If the bolts have the same length, it would suggest that the wheel bosses are of same thickness. With the exception of forged wheels, which are distinct, the sole difference between AMG and non-AMG wheels is in their design; they are all manufactured using the same method, as far as I know. There is one minor difference in addition to the offsets: the ML wheel bolts are fastened at 150 nm, whilst the CLS is fastened to 130 nm. I am curious about the reason for it, and does it have any significance?
  19. Actually, the wheels are fairly wide - measuring 9.5 inches. Although I have a preference for the others, I would not be considering replacing them if the tires on the vehicle were not deteriorated.
  20. The 2007 ML63 did not come with staggered wheels as standard equipment, as stated in the Owner's Manual produced in 2006. My vehicle also does not have staggered wheels; instead, it is equipped with AMG VI wheels measuring 9.5 x 19, which are similar to the rear wheels of the CLS model but with a slightly different offset of 2mm. Curiously, the staggered-setup rear wheels offered by Alloy Wheels Direct are all 9.5 x 19 in size, with a 56 mm offset.
  21. I share the same opinion; both the clothes and the automobile are outdated, and I am as well...
  22. I am OK with the 19" wheels since I do not need a stiffer ride, and I believe they are proportionate to the W164 model. I also have a preference for simple wheels. I am not fond of intricate designs and find the wheels often used on modern electric vehicles to be unattractive. I favour a minimalist and elegant style; I believe that simplicity is more impactful. I plan to install these:
  23. If I decide to retain the ML63, which seems probable, I believe it would be advisable to replace the wheels - authentic AMG, measuring 19 x 9.5J with a 46mm offset (previously refurbished once, but the quality of the refurbishment looks subpar based on their appearance and the amount of weight required to balance them). They are not available fresh from any source, save for a single wheel in Poland, priced at about £600 - I am not interested. In terms of style, they are satisfactory, but they do not possess any exceptional qualities according to my own preferences. I am inclined to install a set of four non-AMG tires, namely the same ones that are already on the back of my CLS. I have a strong preference for these tires, even above any of the other AMG alternatives for the 164 model. The dimensions of the wheels are 19 inches in diameter and 9.5 inches in width, with a 48mm offset. I am sceptical about the significance of a 2mm change in offset; does anybody have any contrary information?
  24. Who is doing the ATF service? I would be glad if the location is SPR in Stockport. They upload films on YouTube showcasing a variety of workshop tasks, and he demonstrates great attention to detail. I am not aware of any individuals that do a gearbox flush as part of their gearbox service. If you own the 7-speed gearbox, the price is reasonable.
