  2. Are you suggesting that the expert BMW technician and coder who repaired it may have inadvertently pinched the wire when reassembling the motor, or that the issue occurred independently thereafter?
  3. Examine the condition of your injector wiring to ensure it is not frayed against any objects. Additionally, examine the resistance of your injector; I bet you will discover one that significantly deviates from the others.
  4. During a trip, the vehicle ceased functioning three minutes in, first at 160 km/h, then at 130 km/h, followed by 100 km/h, ultimately continuing until it failed to restart, necessitating a tow home. After clearing the problem codes, the device started without issue. However, it idled for three minutes before shutting down and subsequently failed to restart, either cranking without ignition or occasionally starting briefly before shutting off again. The accompanying fault codes are displayed in the photographs. I replaced the injectors and the rain gutter trim in the engine 2000 kilometres ago. The sole adjustment I have made recently is the replacement of the headlights and fog lights with LEDs. Assistance would be highly valued. Thank you.

  6. The OM654 lacks the provision for a dipstick. Absurd yet factual.
  7. While your vehicle may not have been equipped with a dipstick, there are web vendors that offer them for your reassurance. It is essential to ensure that you have the correct one, as lengths differ. It is accessible as a workshop component; nevertheless, most dealers choose not to offer them to the public.
  8. It is more probable that it is requesting you to decrease the oil level. Vehicles equipped with the OM654 engine are notoriously sensitive regarding oil levels. I often add 0.5 litres less than the quantity indicated on WIS due to complaints regarding overfilling when the specified amount is used. The electronic gauge is challenging to interpret. Typically, it requires thirty minutes of jogging to manifest, however this duration appears to be inconsistent. I prefer to observe them in the midpoint between the minimum and maximum when a reading is obtainable. Setting it to maximum will inevitably result in receiving the reduction notification at some stage.
  9. Hello everyone, to provide context, I had an A service performed on my 2018 E Class on December 19th of last month. I travelled from Frimley Green to Swindon (58 miles) but on the way home , alarmingly at around 70mph on the M4 my dashboard suddenly flashed up Reduced Engine Oil, I dismissed the message and as soon as I got off the motorway stopped to checked the oil level. I have since discovered that my model is not equipped with an oil dipstick. It was not until. Upon returning home, I discovered that I could monitor the oil level via the dashboard computer. I attempted this, but although it indicated that a measurement was in progress, no oil level was displayed. Has anyone else had this issue? Was it a defective alarm, a malfunctioning sensor, or did the operator fail to adequately secure the sump plug during servicing? I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow to have them assess the oil level; if it is insufficient, I will be somewhat displeased. After attempting to locate the dipstick with a light, I am confident that I can observe oil in the plastic tray beneath the engine. Any feedback before to tomorrow would be very appreciated.
  10. The Sportage is finally her, my wife’s absolutely delighted with it. Her birthday is on August 1st, so they were able to get it to her before her birthday, which is amazing... We’ll have it checked over properly this weekend, but first impressions are excellent.
  11. That’s pretty reasonable to be honest. The 10 day trial makes sense only for deliveries once you’ve driven it away yourself, it’s a different situation. A three month mechanical warranty isn’t bad at all.
  12. I chose for collection rather than delivery. Purchased a 2021 Mazda CX-30 there were no aggressive sales techniques, they simply provided the keys, allowed me to test drive the vehicle, addressed my enquiries, and concluded the interaction. The sole disadvantage is the absence of a 10 days money back guarantee for self-collection, nevertheless they included a 3-month warranty for the engine and gearbox, which seemed reasonable.
  13. I nearly bought a 2023 BMW X1 from Whelan Transport but couldn’t get time off work to visit the Belfast yard. What I did like was that they actually encouraged me to come and view the car instead of pushing for a quick payment. That alone made them seem more genuine than most.
  14. I experienced a comparable situation, however with a delay. I purchased a 2022 Audi A6 from Whelan Transport and I was informed that the delivery would take approximately a week the delivery ultimately required an additional two days because of a transporter issue they called me immediately upon finding out and continued to keep me informed. Car arrived exactly as described, so the delay didn’t bother me in the end.
  15. I have just received the initial invoice for a £1,000 deposit. They have clarified that following the vehicle preparation, which is expected within 48 hours, they will issue the second invoice for the remaining balance. I actually like that structure it gives you a pause point rather than handing everything over in one go.
  16. Just to balance things out I bought a 2023 Citroën C5 X from Whelan Transport back in February. They quoted 7–10 working days for delivery, and mine arrived on day seven. Car came fully valeted, both keys, V5C, MOT history, and service printout.
  17. M8 the platforms themselves aren’t the issue it’s the fake sellers abusing them. A friend of mine got caught recently with a fake AutoTrader listing. Car was advertised at half its real value he sent £7800, and thankfully the bank refunded him within three days, although they did deduct a small admin fee. So yeah, protection exists, but you still want to deal with a real company, not just rely on the bank to clean up the mess.
  18. That new refund rule is a step in the right direction, to be fair scams are everywhere now, especially on Facebook Marketplace and even Ebay. It’s got to the point where you almost expect something dodgy unless proven otherwise.
  19. Bank transfer. I wasn’t thrilled about that at first, so I checked with my solicitor and he explained that since October 2024, banks are now required to refund victims of authorised payment fraud up to £85,000, usually within a few working days. That definitely made me feel more comfortable sending the money.
  20. That’s reassuring, thanks. Can I ask did you pay by bank transfer only, or were there other options?
  21. I purchased a vehicle from Whelan Transport it was a 2022 LR Evoque. This was my first experience purchasing a repo car, so I shared the same uncertainties. I made the deposit and then paid the remaining balance after they confirmed that the car had passed preparation and was ready for delivery. When it arrived, it honestly looked better than I expected. Full valet, no surprises.
