SushySosa
Recently purchased a new 2024 1.6-liter petrol hybrid variant equipped with an automatic transmission. During rapid acceleration, the engine rpm increase without the vehicle changing gears. I perceive a loud noise emanating from the engine. It seems as if the automobile will remain in the same gear indefinitely. The vehicle swaps gears only when I remove my foot from the pedal. This is rather frustrating as it disrupts my driving smoothness; I must constantly lift my foot to adjust gears. Ecological mode. Should I contact the dealer about this issue? Markwe
You have been use the paddle shifters. 😂 Certainly, if I were apprehensive, I would contact the dealer, maybe reaching out to numerous dealers for a consensus. I have never need such rapid acceleration in the city, even throughout my prior automobile experiences. Your post prompts me to consider if some introspective reflection would reveal that this is not your father's Maserati.
SushySosa
I previously drove a VW Passat in the same manner, without using the pedal or paddle shifters; the ride was very smooth, and acceleration was effortless (140 kW, 190 HP, 2.0 diesel engine). No, I did not engage the paddle shifters. The Hyundai gearbox seems to lack the sophistication and smoothness of the Volkswagen DSG.
RosaStyle
Subsequently, sell it and purchase a VW Passat.
SushySosa
The assistance provided is subpar; Hyundai has a very poor community.
RosaStyle
You have no more comments; you disapprove of its transition and see it as substandard. Why remain discontent? Sell it and purchase the VW.
Ledgerciao
I agree that individuals may exhibit unpleasant behaviour in any automotive community. Condemning us all based on a single post, likening us to Tampa, is unkind. Ironically, the Volkswagen community has shown the worst level of toxicity I have seen in almost thirty years of moderating automotive forums and formerly participating in motorsports. I may return soon. In my opinion, the VR6 and everything else is over overrated.
Ledgerciao
Are you frustrated when an SUV, while attempting rapid acceleration, with a small engine—presumably equipped with a turbocharger—is maintaining a lower gear despite your foot remaining on the accelerator? It seems to be preparing for you to accelerate more and/or recharge the battery somewhat after your recent exertion. My 2.5 8-speed automatic exhibits this behaviour in sports mode, however in standard mode, it attempts to change to a higher gear as rapidly as possible, immediately upon little release of the accelerator. My last Ford exhibited rapid shifting similar to your VW, which I deemed inefficient, since it necessitated downshifting upon subsequent acceleration. Similar to entering a freeway ramp, one must accelerate, then decelerate somewhat to get a clear perspective, allowing for either a merge or an increase in speed to follow the flow of traffic. I like it to maintain the lower gear and await clarification of my intentions rather than abruptly shifting to 8th gear, necessitating a further downshift to 4th gear to complete the merging. Contact the dealer; however, if there is no hard shifting, warning light, or other malfunction, they will likely assert that it is functioning normally. If you can locate a somebody to adjust the gearbox like I did with my Ford, you may be able to resolve that issue. Best of luck in finding a coder for that configuration. It would be a daunting challenge to navigate, with several complexities involved in facilitating movement.
