Angurita
Greetings everyone, I got a GLC two weeks ago, and the engine management light illuminated last week. Transported to the garage, where it was confirmed that the issue may be a defective box sensor. I will decline the vehicle. However, they need me to go to the dealership for their own assessments. Will the EML indicator remain on until the sensor is replaced or the fault is rectified? Is there a certain duration or number of stop/start cycles required for it to clean automatically? I do not want to travel an hour just for the light to go. Thank you.
AmericaMonster
Why dismiss it only due to a sensor malfunction? It is readily rectified. Numerous sensors are prone to malfunction at any moment, and often do so.
AmericaMonster
The light will extinguish with the replacement of the sensor and the clearing of the codes. Software may also be required. Utilise only an authentic (latest number) NOX sensor.
PopeyeR
The light will have recorded a defect in the car's memory, even if the dashboard EML indicator turns off. It’s definitely up to you whether you reject the automobile, but if it’s ran with no troubles for 2 weeks (I’m thinking the car isn’t new) . Subsequently, malfunctions occur in vehicles. Who can predict that the next vehicle you purchase would have a defect within three weeks? What will your course of action be then? Do you own a Mercedes Mobilio breakdown coverage? They will respond and diagnose the issue.
engrol
Concurred It depends on whether the vehicle was purchased from Mercedes-Benz; if so, I would not decline it if the car is otherwise in excellent condition, such as being unblemished, having enough tire tread and brake life, not having been smoked in or exposed to pets, and possessing the appropriate specifications and colour. If you exchanged your automobile for another used vehicle, it may possess additional issues. I would recommend giving them an opportunity; if the vehicle is equipped with Mobilo, contact them for diagnosis and repair. They can also schedule an appointment for you, as I experienced firsthand. My vehicle had a NOx issue, and they arranged for a loaner car, an E-Class, while my GLE was serviced. They resolved everything within three days. Ziinsig
Observe the front wheels as they begin to collide at full lock during gradual turns in frigid conditions. An ineffective nox sensor is inconsequential. The GLC is really exceptional. Do not allow a faulty sensor to deter you. They traverse freeway distances with utmost comfort. RosaStyle
Utilising a £25 OBD2 scanner, you may independently erase the error and consequently the Engine Management Light (EML). My device activates with the Nix sensor failure code around one year. I will cancel many times during the following week, after which it will be deactivated. I possess little to no confidence in the sensors really malfunctioning. I believe it is more likely a case of debris on the sensor that is finally dislodged, or the excessively stringent limitations programmed in the software being momentarily surpassed. The assertion that "the computer indicates a negative response" does not always imply that a replacement is required. It serves as a modest source of income for some individuals. Freelele
Reiterating information obtained from a Mercedes-Benz technician some years prior: A prevalent reason for NOX-sensor malfunction is the accumulation of condensed water in the exhaust silencer. The water accumulates significantly. Upon the driver using the brake pedal, a portion of the cold water surges forward, impacting the heated NOX sensor and resulting in its fracture. Mercedes issued a service notification: A 3mm diameter aperture should be created in the rear silencer at its lowest location. This will let condensed water to escape without impacting the remainder of the system. I performed the action on my gas vehicle. A substantial puddle has accumulated on my garage floor.
