  1. Good morning. Where is the location of the O2 sensor? Is there just one or are there two on the V6? I am seeing intermittent error messages related to the O2 sensor. 🤔
  2. Modifying the P38 for off-road driving would not align with the Range Rover's reputation for excellence. Setting humour aside, the kind of off-roading you want to engage in and your degree of expertise are crucial factors to consider. Mastering the skill of driving the car off-road is more beneficial than making any modifications. In my opinion, a totally unmodified P38 can do 90% of the off-roading activities that most individuals want. Regarding sand dunes, I have driven numerous P38s in the dunes of Pismo Beach and can confirm that it performs really well. Occasionally, I don't deflate my tyres and I have never been trapped. No factory-made vehicle is built for leaping dunes. Even extended trip F150 Raptors or Ram TRX's will sustain damage if subjected to high jumps. I prefer a broken air spring to damaged tie rods and twisted lower control arms.
  3. Ouch! My situation is not significantly impacted, I am uncertain whether there has been any change. I see much fluctuation even during repeated routine trips, making it difficult to pinpoint a specific cause.
  4. Providing an update on the current status of the recalls for informational purposes. Today, I brought my vehicle in for inspection and it was determined that the EGR cooler has to be replaced. The pre-ordered parts were installed, and I picked up the item later that day when the replacement was completed. It is likely that there have been significant improvements, notably in the availability of components, since the beginning of the BMW ERG recall situation. The fuel economy during the return travel from the dealer exceeded my expectations. There are several factors that might influence this, and I am uncertain whether the repair completed could damage fuel efficiency. However, I will monitor it closely throughout my next trips.
  5. Apologies, I mistakenly interpreted yours as the number 520.
  6. Pleasant 🙂 I picked my automobile for its optimal combination of size, performance, and fuel efficiency, rather than opting for a luxurious rental vehicle. I don't want to be trapped with a racer who need frequent refuelling for weeks on end, just as I wouldn't want a roller-skate that conserves resources or a Mondeo car.
  7. Had a conversation with BMW UK today. It seems that there are two recall programmes related to the EGR, if I am interpreting the information right. The first issue was with the EGR valve, mostly impacting cars manufactured before August 2016. I have experienced a recall related to the EGR cooler, which may impact cars manufactured until the end of 2017. I have scheduled an appointment with my local dealer, hoping for an easy and prompt service. BMW UK informed me that due to my vehicle still being under new car warranty, I am eligible for a courtesy car of the same model. However, the dealer said that they cannot guarantee the availability of the same model and I may get a 3- or even a 1-series car instead. I am OK with receiving my car back the same day provided the inspection confirms it is in good condition. However, it would be disappointing if I wind up with a smaller or more expensive-to-maintain vehicle, such as a petrol car instead of a diesel one, for a long time.
  8. I purchased a two-and-a-half-year-old BMW 520D (F10) a few months back. Having learned about the EGR problem, I conducted some study. The problem seems to primarily impact cars produced before August 2016. My item was manufactured on September 15, 2016, and has no pending recalls. Therefore, I was startled to get a recall notice for it today. Has the recall been expanded to more current manufacturing dates? Has BMW improved their efficiency in terms of parts availability and providing courtesy/hire cars?
  9. If I were to find the model of the automobile appealing, I would contact the dealer to request a complete refund under the authorised used programme owing to a significant mechanical problem. I would want them to find me a suitable substitute.
  10. Doesn't a 2-year-old automobile still have a bumper-to-bumper factory warranty? Simply return it to an MB dealership to address the issue? Am I misinterpreting anything here? What is the timeframe between when you bought/collected/received the item and when it stopped working? Can we reject or return this?
  11. Best of luck with your endeavour, my friend. It is quite captivating to see.
  12. I own a 2008 BMW 1 Series E87. Generally, using regular fuel (E10) suffices; but, sometimes once or twice a month, I find it necessary to use premium fuel to prevent performance issues and avoid frustrating delays.
  13. The cam or crank position sensor often experiences failure only after reaching operating temperature. Do you have any codes available?
  14. I have successfully installed and configured Vagcom and Forscan on my Windows 7 Pro operating system. However, I am unsure why this particular issue is occurring. I received a response from them stating that they would investigate the matter tomorrow.
  15. I am uncertain about the meaning of your statement. Placed an order for a hose and am awaiting its arrival before proceeding with the Regen process.
  16. Apologies, the vehicle in question is a 2.0 diesel estate from the 2011 model year. Today, I received the Opcom delivery. However, I had difficulties throughout the installation process as it repeatedly displayed problems. Consequently, I have reached out to Opcom via email, seeking assistance. Despite its limited functionality, it successfully performs simple tasks such as scanning trouble codes. Upon seeing error code P2282-52, I proceeded to inspect the boost pipe as suggested. Although my visibility was limited, I saw significant moisture accumulation on the pipe. Consequently, I have placed an order for a replacement pipe and will assess its effectiveness once it arrives. I intended to instruct Opcom to do a force regeneration, but because it has not completely loaded, it is now preventing me from doing so. I will wait and observe the situation. Thank you one again
  17. Anticipating the arrival of a code reader, but wanted to inquire here first in case others have had a like problem. Operating a vehicle on the highway Approximately 2 days ago, while driving at a speed of around 70 miles per hour, I pressed the accelerator pedal to overtake another vehicle. However, I had a little delay in acceleration and the message "service vehicle soon" appeared. Despite this, the car eventually accelerated normally, although I did feel a tiny decrease in power. I continued driving home without encountering any more issues. Upon starting the automobile yesterday, the warning message "service vehicle soon" immediately appeared. Completed a brief trip without any issues. This morning, I started the vehicle without any warning signs. During my commute to work, which lasted around 30 minutes, I deliberately maintained a speed of 2800 rpm in third gear, as I believed that the automobile may benefit from a thorough cleaning. Throughout the journey, no caution indicators were shown. While driving home, I maintained a regular speed until I decided to accelerate and overtake another car at around 70 miles per hour in 6th gear. At that moment, I experienced a brief halt followed by the appearance of a warning message stating "service vehicle soon". Does anybody possess any notion about its nature? As previously said, I am now awaiting the arrival of the opcom code reader in order to do a more in-depth analysis. Thank you.
  18. I will be refurbishing my AMG wheels in the next weeks. However, I have noticed that the wheel nuts, which are made of chrome, have become rusty and rusted. What is the most effective method to restore them to their previous condition?
