  2. Hello everyone, Now that I've been without a BMW for almost a decade, I'm seriously considering purchasing a 118i M Sport. It seems like the car is in pristine condition and is in mint condition. In regards to the service history, my main concern is that the first service was performed at 17,800 miles and the second service, which was a major one, was done at 34,000 miles. This information is provided by idrive. The vehicle has a current mileage of 39,000 miles. This complete dealer service history is what BMW Sytner is referring to. Too long has passed since my last oil change, in my opinion. That vehicle has a 73 plate. Is this a potentially dangerous purchase, in your opinion?
  3. My resurrection seems to have unintentionally set something in motion 😎.
  4. What does it matter? I am the one who brings life and resurrection.
  5. Honestly, I don't know the answer, but I think that's the reason the administration is blocking me from accessing my Smart320 account. I don't even own a Mercedes, so I don't understand why anyone would want to pose as me 🤣.
  6. Welcome back! I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better again. PS How do we recognise you when someone impersonates you and makes statements that make us think it's you? 🤔
  7. Good day, I have come back to life. I used to be Smart320, but I had a bit of a password mishap, forgot it, and then realised the email address I had used to sign up was no longer associated with a working provider. I had to sign up again as a new member because the administrators never responded to my request to access my account. Just bought a new kitchen to make my wife happy (and since I do most of the cooking, I have the benefit of some new hi-tech lighting and appliances, just not the mobile kind), but I still haven't gotten a new motor. I'm driving my wife's old Rav 4 and thinking fondly about my SLK 55. In any case, I'm still having fun on the forum, and I'm glad to report that my health is on the upswing following my bouts of pneumonia and heart failure; I was recently informed that my heart is functioning normally, and it's likely that I contracted a virus simultaneously with my pneumonia; thankfully, I've recovered, though my lungs aren't quite back to normal just yet. In any case, it's good to be back, if by a different name.

To access the menu, keep pressing the Star button. Choose the DAW window by scrolling down.

    Danger of DAW

Feeling exactly the same way about everything

Same here. I will investigate the suggestion for the star button. That it could be so precise is news to me. When I first turn on my vehicle, I press down on the wheel button and hold the gas pedal for two seconds. Disables both simultaneously. Even though I wear spectacles, the DAW might not be happy about the weather. Although it's not ideal, I disable it when I'm behind the wheel. So, if I can make the star button work, it's a good shout. Left lane assist on the shelf. The semi-rural area where I reside has winding, narrow roads. Lane assist is a major headache.

    Danger of DAW

I have the same issue; every time I get in my car, I just press a button to disable it.

    Danger of DAW

For some reason, when the sun is directly overhead, my spectacles become extremely irritated unless you remove them. It is excessively delicate.

    Danger of DAW

I set up the star button in the middle of the screen to activate the DAW warning. It can be easily turned off in this way.

    Danger of DAW

My electric vehicle (EV3) has only been on the market for a month, but I am already frustrated with the DAW system. The stores close before I remember to turn it off, even though I know I can. It's like a mental checklist that I have to fill out every time I enter. We have car seat sets for both of us, but because of our vast height disparity—I'm 6 feet 4 inches and my wife is 5 feet 6 inches—we need to adjust the settings for our seats accordingly. The vehicle alarm has only gone off once while the wife is driving. With the exception of nighttime driving, when there is apparently no sound whatsoever, the system begins alerting me well in advance of my departure from the driveway and keeps beeping and horning at me for the majority of the trip. Indeed, I do wear spectacles. I was wondering if anyone else had experience with this or had any recommendations.
  16. I neglected to enquire about your location.
  17. When it comes to these cars, I only use high-quality brands like FAI, Frii, and Peirburg. If you're replacing the chain, FAI offers a comprehensive kit that includes all the hubs and bits, similar to a master kit and oil pup chain kit. I perform engine refreshes frequently, and I always take the head and sump off the pistons, swap out the oil rings for better ones, and use FAI for the labour and parts. If you want to see how my previous refreshes turned out, just type in "mike1967 refresh" and you'll see examples of what I've done.
  18. The Mini Cooper S R56 N18 Auto is what I'm selling. Want to get a few things fixed, but the cost of labour is too high. What tasks can I accomplish simultaneously that will be most effective? The parts I'm examining include the timing chain, oil filter housing gasket, bushes, and lower control arms up front. It has 80,000 but is seldom used. Would you happen to have any recommendations for reputable brands of OE plus parts? best wishes
  19. Thank you! I'm beginning to believe this is the best option for next winter.
  20. A set of inexpensive basic alloys gets my vote. The rims don't have to be the exact same diameter as yours; what's important is that you select the correct profile tires to keep the total rolling diameter constant.
  21. Obtaining a large enough item to fit over the brakes has become a challenge with most modern cars. Steels with a minimum diameter of 17 inches are practically nonexistent in the United Kingdom, so the only option is to import new ones from the European market, where winter sets are specifically designed. If you're not picky, you should be able to get a used set of W204 alloys for around £200, so they're not too expensive but still provide good value.
  22. Recalling (I think there's a comparable thread on the forum somewhere) An Audi is the way to go. Ask yourself this: how many contemporary Audis had steel wheels?
