E400d All-Terrain

Greetings, everyone.
We own a 12-year-old Audi A6 Biturbo that has accumulated 140,000 kilometres, which we cherish. We reside on the periphery of the Somerset Levels, where the roads are suboptimal, so we contemplated replacing our vehicle with a newer Audi Allroad, known for its elevated ride height; nevertheless, I recalled that Mercedes offers a comparable All-Terrain model. Does anybody here own or have experience with one? Are there any notable advantages or potential concerns to consider?
Thank you in advance.

I have had a GLC coupe for the last two years, which has sports suspension. I replaced it with an Audi SQ5 and can unequivocally state that the Audi surpasses the GLC in performance. If comfort is a priority, I would seek a Mercedes equipped with air suspension, since the Mercedes sports suspension is designed for handling rather than comfort, in my humble opinion.

The E400d is classified as a saloon or coupe. I do not see any more riding height, to be honest. I would avoid the engine since it is susceptible to cam follower and roller bearing problems.

Currently, there are three available on AutoTrader.
Convenient for those desiring a somewhat elevated ride height without opting for an SUV. As far as I know, it is available just in estate form. 🙂👍

However, I would personally choose for the Audi Allroad.

It is a proven recipe, widely available, and it will not include the MB AdBlue system.

However, I must admit that I am not entirely objective; the Audi Allroad has always been one of my preferred vehicles and has even been on my shortlist many times, though I regrettably never purchased one.

Thank you for your responses.

In accordance with the aforementioned article, I have also been considering Audi Allroads; however, it must be equipped with the same BiTurbo engine found in our present A6 (which I regard as an exceptional engine), must have a towbar (a must for me), and must include a panoramic roof (a condition from my wife), all of which significantly restrict the options available. I have an aversion to SUVs. I have operated one of the All-Terrains now listed on Autotrader and was pleased, particularly with its full loading and the retractable towbar, which is almost a masterpiece. I was not very like of the black colour, and the 20-inch wheels rather undermine the purpose, in my opinion. I will likely confront the situation and go with it, I believe.
