Samuraisaint
I am considering two distinct 2022 2.0 GR Sports models. One has the older Connect Multimedia, while the other incorporates the modern Smart Connect. I only use CarPlay in a vehicle, so I am unconcerned with the older system's latency or sluggishness. However, are there any distinctions in sound quality between the old and new systems? This will be a determining factor for me.
bellox
Prior to purchasing a first-generation C-HR, have you obtained an insurance quote? Many companies either refuse coverage or significantly increase the cost due to theft concerns. Regarding the GR Sport specification, do both models include the normal six-speaker audio system, or does one of them provide the optional nine-speaker JBL system? TraumaLaugh
I was unaware that the CHR was a target for theft. It does not listed on any listings I can locate. From whence did you get this?
bellox
Numerous reports indicate that some individuals have had multiple items confiscated.

bellox
Prospective buyers of a first-generation C-HR should be well informed; the decision to proceed with the purchase rests with them.

TraumaLaugh
Analogous to several forums. Some owners have experienced vehicle theft, however there are typically two categories of posters on this platform. The dedicated poster with several hundred or more contributions and the occasional posters who engage when faced with an issue or event. Currently, the most often stolen vehicles include many Lexus models; nevertheless, the CHR does not appear on any rankings. My former vehicle was a Golf R. The vehicle became the preferred option for thieves for a while, since it had the potential to evade law enforcement and was uninsurable in certain regions. Similar circumstances apply to Range Rovers lately, since they may be dismantled for components or exported overseas.

bellox
The latest Smart Connect system has wireless Apple CarPlay, which may assist in your decision-making. If you like high-quality music, continue searching for a C-HR equipped with the optional 9-speaker JBL system.
Preedom
The audio quality is equivalent throughout the head units. For superior audio quality in your vehicle, go for a JBL system. I own JBL audio systems in both my 2020 and 2024 C-HR models, and their sound quality is consistently excellent. I drove the C-HR equipped with the usual six speakers many times, and the difference is substantial! The 2024 C-HR GR SPORT is the only specification in Ireland with JBL; I am uncertain whether this is also the case in the UK.
bellox
The original poster said that using Apple CarPlay makes the 2022 model year C-HR with Smart Connect preferable, since it has wireless CarPlay.

bellox
The 9-speaker JBL system was an available feature on the UK GR Sport model, which is the specification the original poster is considering. For what it's worth, the JBL option is advisable for a UK GR Sport, since it includes Alcantara and motorised seat adjustment.

Hypabl
I own a 2020 Excel and only use Android Auto with the AAwireless adaptor, encountering no troubles. For your information, Toyota is providing a complimentary tracker. I have recently updated my insurance, which was £690 with Quotemehappy, and is now via Go.Compare IM with AA £335 and a TopCashback rebate of £42.
