Are my headlights in need of polishing?

Greetings, everybody.

I hope everyone is in good health. This community has always provided me with invaluable advice, particularly during urgent situations. Expressing profound gratitude

Given my extensive driving, I strive to ensure that the headlights are maximally luminous. To ensure compliance with legal regulations and prevent any obstacles for others

I just conducted a search on Amazon and stumbled onto a device specifically designed for the purpose of polishing headlights. It seems that it has over 1000 reviews. Considering whether or not to do it, but do you believe that my headlights really require polishing?
Alternatively, maybe just polishing and applying a spray?

What are the opaque bands located above the headlight?

The upper areas you have specified would greatly benefit from a thorough polishing.
There are several kits available on the market, with the 3M kit being my favourite option. However, if you dedicate sufficient time to the task, utilising fine grit sandpaper with water as a lubricant might provide satisfactory outcomes. It is crucial to seal the lens after cleaning to prevent the UV from causing the lens to get cloudy again. The majority of kits are equipped with a lens sealant.

If the appearance of the lights does not bother you much or if you are not receiving any warnings from your MOT test, it may be advisable to postpone addressing the issue for the time being. There is a limit to the amount of abrasive polishing they can endure.

However, if executed correctly, they should remain luminous for a considerable while.

Apply masking tape to the surface of the body. I used a compact Makita 10.8 volt drill equipped with a polishing head.

Furthermore, it is essential to continuously maintain movement of the power tool being used. Allowing the headlight lens to remain in one position will cause damage.

I always do it manually....significantly reducing the chance of damaging the light or surrounding paint in case of a slip.

Moisten the surface with 1000 units of liquid and proceed to remove the yellowing and achieve a uniform cloudiness throughout the whole area. To get a polished surface, 3000 grit is required. To get a clean finish, use Farecla G3 for polishing, metal polish or "T cut for metallics" for the ultimate shine, and a UV safe clear coat top.
