  1. It seems likely, Micobe. Considering altering the timing chain as a precautionary measure.
  2. Thank you for the responses. I just completed an 80-mile journey and the issue did not occur, indicating that the problem may have been caused by an excessive amount of oil in the automobile. Before the oil change, the warning light illuminated every time I used the vehicle.
  3. It sounds quite promising! I will attempt to measure the pressure today. No light has been detected yet. I was surprised by the 13 litres.
  4. I have some inquiries for you all and would appreciate your assistance. Purchased a 2008 320i at a discounted price because of the low oil pressure warning light. Considering the cost, it was a worthwhile risk. I saw that the light would illuminate around 15-20 minutes after the automobile was started. Therefore... I removed the oil cover and inspected the chain for slack, but found none. The chain seems taut and well-fitted. I have performed an oil change and replaced the oil filter on the vehicle. Now, here is where things becomes intriguing. There were 13 litres of oil in the automobile. I was surprised to see that the oil seemed to be in excellent condition, free of any metal particles, which I had learned would indicate a problem if present. The oil filter was worn, but no metal fragments or similar debris were found. The oil filter was replaced, and about 4.5 litres of oil were added to the automobile. It has been 2 days and the low oil pressure indicator has not illuminated at all. Can we attribute the cause to the 13 litres of oil? verbose message I would appreciate any answers and thank you for taking the time to read!
  5. I often ponder why individuals choose to indicate their location as the UK instead of specifying the neighbouring city. If we had a general idea of your location, we might suggest a place that could provide assistance.
  6. The cost of the sensor arm is low, whereas the sensor itself is not inexpensive. Hopefully, it is the arm.
  7. If you possess dexterity, examine the back sensor. If you are able to detect a fractured arm, you may proceed to replace it for a sum of around £30. Below is my thread documenting the light difficulties I had with my E class. Although they may differ from yours, it will provide you with a visual reference to the location of the rear sensor with accompanying pictures.
  8. I pay £330 for insuring my 640d with 3 years of no claims, and £300 for my e90 330d with 19 years of no claims, with my son's name included on the insurance. My son is 29 years old and there was an accident for which I was at blame. 28 months ago
  9. By what criteria are they discerning the autos that are eligible for coverage and those that are not? Could you provide a hyperlink to a source or citation? Thank you!
  10. The hue is striking, with a delicate but distinctive quality.
  11. Curiously, I have not attempted to use tar and adhesive removers since I doubted their efficacy. However, it is advisable to attempt it first before resorting to more challenging alternatives.
  12. The suggestion of using a clay bar is excellent. I have previously applied a clay bar to the surface, but I did not specifically target the places. Therefore, I am considering using the clay bar on one of the locations to assess its effectiveness. Greetings
  13. Thank you. I apologise for not mentioning in the original article that the substance in question seems to be white house paint or a similar one. It is quite unlikely that the substance causing the spots is automobile paint. However, removing these spots may require doing a complete detailing of the car. Ultimately, this is a beneficial procedure to undertake, especially when using appropriate equipment and waxes.
  14. Hello, I am seeking suggestions on how to effectively remove little blemishes of white paint on my vehicle. There are sporadic blemishes present throughout the paintwork, and I am uncertain of the cause previous to my purchase. I attempted to use a Dual Action (DA) polisher while using Meguires ultimate compound as a component of my procedure to eliminate swirl marks. However, this endeavour did not provide significant results.
  15. Assistance required. My hub is immobilised! Refuses to move. I adhered to all of your directions for removal. The four 4-17 mm bolts have been removed. Strike it with a sledgehammer, but there was no effect. I applied PB blaster on it, but it had no effect. I am experiencing a state of extreme mental distress and uncertainty on my future course of action. Suggestions for a novice? Thank you in advance. Rear wheel hub on a 2001 LS 430.
  16. I have acquired one of these devices and I must admit that I cannot find any flaws with it. However, I have not used it much at higher power levels. Undoubtedly, it loosens the wheel nuts. The Bamse Cordless Impact Wrench Brushless is a powerful impact gun with a 21V battery and a 1/2 inch size. It operates at a speed of 3100RPM and has a maximum torque of 550N.m. The wrench comes with a 4.0Ah battery, 4 impact sockets, 6 screwdriver bits, and 1 hex adapter, making it suitable for use in cars. Amazon.co.uk offers a wide range of DIY and tools products.
  17. I can only address issues related to the re-localization of privately imported automobiles that were originally constructed and configured for the North American market, where there are differences in speedometers, daytime running lights (DRLs), rear turn signal colours, navigation systems, and other features compared to Europe. Manufacturers often aim to reduce the amount of hardware variations wherever feasible and instead depend on configuration choices that are concealed inside the software. The Xentry diagnostic system conceals these parameters from regular usage. Access to these parameters is contingent upon Mercedes' benevolence. To access them, one must input menu item passwords and possess precise knowledge of the specific bits and/or bytes that need to be modified inside the firmware registers. An issue that may cause discomfort is the potential for unintentional overwriting of modifications made during a firmware update. According to the most recent information I have, the Xentry system establishes a connection with MB and thereafter prompts the user to provide their account credentials in order to access the maintenance menus. Upon connection to the automobile, it does a check for firmware revisions and any upgrades. My recommendation: Reach out to an authorised dealer/workshop and politely inquire if they can provide any help. I cannot definitively ascertain if it is feasible to recode your vehicle.
  18. I had not considered that aspect, but indeed, it is logical to include measures to avoid unintended access.
  19. It seems that I have been encountering difficulty since I have been doing the task with the automobile in a locked state, but it should be opened. Thank you, I will try it soon.
  20. Greetings to everybody, Since the very beginning, I have found the boot release button on my E90 to be perplexing. I have seen that it works intermittently, however just by inadvertent occurrences when fumbling for my keys. Therefore, I am unable to provide a definitive explanation of the method used. Depressing a single key has no effect. The alarm was triggered by many activations or maybe by continuously pressing it down. In any case, the boot fails to open. I have tested both key fobs, therefore confirming that none of them is defective. Although I have never been very troubled by it, I am now interested in acquiring a pair of Emerald Struts and using its functionality. Thank you in advance
  21. After the software upgrade, I had the same problem, and a few weeks later, the engine management light turned on. Upon bringing it to the dealership, they have informed me that the swirl flaps and seals need replacement, and this issue is unrelated to the EGR Cooler recall. This statement is very inaccurate and unsubstantiated. As previously explained, the accumulation of soot in the Manifold intake is a direct consequence of a design flaw. Have you made any progress in your dealings with the dealer? Sincerely
