Assistance needed with R56 2885 Deviation
KnightNewscast replied to KnightNewscast's topic in General
Furthermore, if the real value is low, why is it producing a result of 2885 instead of 2884? This discrepancy seems to contradict the expected order. -

In addition, I have attempted to use a spare rocker cover and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system that is known to be in excellent condition, but it did not alter the observed behaviour. -
Assistance needed with R56 2885 Deviation
KnightNewscast replied to KnightNewscast's topic in General
Upon observing the 2885 code throughout a run, it seems that there is a variance of around 600mbar. This phenomenon occurs only when one's foot is firmly placed and the revolutions per minute (RPM) are gradually increasing. When driving at a fast speed with high engine revolutions and maximum turbocharger pressure, the error indicator will not activate whatsoever. -
The R56 N14 engine had a refurbishment, which included the installation of a new turbocharger, diverter valve, intercooler, and vacuum pump. Is it accurate to say that code 2885 indicates overboost and code 2884 indicates underboost? I have inspected all the vacuum pipes leading to the chamber, solenoid vacuum pump and waste gate actuator. Everything seems to be in order. Furthermore, there are no instances of charge side leakage. While driving the vehicle, the boost engages and it performs well when subjected to high engine speeds and load, without any error messages being shown. Once I reach a level or sloping surface at a speed of 70mph, using either the 5th or 6th gear, with the accelerator fully pressed down to increase the engine's revolutions per minute (RPM), the warning light labelled "2885" illuminates along with the half power indicator. However, it is evident that the vehicle still experiences a boost despite the warning light being on. I believe that the charge piping is in excellent condition based on my assessment. The turbo, diverter and vacuum pump have all been replaced with new components. The vacuum flow through the chamber is functioning properly, as shown by the release of pressure when the piping on the pump side is removed while the solenoid is closed. The solenoid is opening and boost is being generated. Indeed, the only remaining task, provided my assumption is correct, is to make the necessary modification to the wastegate actuator. The throw lengths listed range from 8mm to 18mm, although I have seen variations in these measurements. I have observed that the turbos included in the R56 model exhibit a wide range of variations in their throws, which has left me feeling perplexed. Furthermore, in the context of MBAR, what is the intended magnitude of the boost pressure? What is the specific condition that would cause an over boost if the code is 2885? The barometric pressure, as shown by my reader, is around 1200 millibars. Any further perspectives or observations would be much welcomed.

Deciding between rebuilding or replacing - facing a dilemma
KnightNewscast replied to Samuraisaint's topic in General
My suggestion would be to get anything you can from it in its current condition and purchase a replacement. Undertaking such a substantial task has inherent hazards, so, just enjoy the experience of purchasing a new one. -
The deflector on the driver's side consistently prevents the window from closing when the mirror is positioned inward. The situation has remained the same since I installed them.

Additionally, during the installation conversations, the product team requested that I provide them with the specifications of the required hardware so that they may include it for prospective customers in the future. laugh out loud -

Precisely! It is absurd that they requested a demonstration of why their gear is not functioning, as if they were capable of finding a solution. I provided evidence, but they entirely disregarded it, save for informing the third-party vendor that they declined to reply. After spending a significant amount of money on a lip procedure. Savage. I have also been informed that their hood fits poorly and they show little concern for client concerns about this matter. -

The bolts prove insufficient in length during insertion of the tubes. The fitting was around 80% accurate. Given the exceptional quality of the product, it is expected that the appropriate hardware would have been included. The store had to get the hardware and perform a customised installation in order for it to function correctly. -

I have perused that, laughing out loud. However, they said that it is a straight bolt-on and there was no significant deviation. This is a binary decision - not a matter of compatibility. Their hardware was inaccurate. They promoted it as a straight bolt-on. This is not a low-cost buy from eBay. How is it acceptable for firms to disregard their customers? I have procured aftermarket components from many suppliers. This serves as a cautionary notice for others. -

You are accurate in your assertion, yet it should be noted that some options are superior than others. The primary concern is in the assertion that it is a straightforward bolt-on, which is inaccurate. Furthermore, the disregard I experienced. If the only problem was fitting concerns, I would not have commented or complained about it, and I would have accepted it as it is. -
Greetings, everyone. I would like to inform everyone that I have just purchased a front lip for my 2023 facelifted R8 from 1016 Industries. The final outcome was satisfactory, albeit the precision of the installation may be rated at about 8 out of 10. The fitting is imprecise and does not align optimally. 1016 claimed that it was a straight bolt-on, however, the hardware they supplied was clearly incompatible. My business had to get specialised hardware to perfectly fit it to the car. 1016 asserted that the store was in error. Nevertheless, I sent films and images. I requested a credit of $150 to cover the additional expenses and effort incurred. I shown exceptional politeness throughout the whole procedure. Initially, they requested the submission of photographs and films depicting the problem. After doing the task, they declined to respond. They informed Tag Motorsports, the third party from whom I made the transaction, that they would not be providing a response to me. Despite my efforts to be polite and thorough in my explanation, the other party chose to disregard me. Given the magnitude of this corporation, their deficiency in customer service is utterly absurd. Tag Motorsports promptly refunded me the whole amount of $150, which is really satisfactory. Nevertheless, handling 1016 was undeniably an unfavourable encounter. Potential purchasers should exercise caution.

What is the most effective method for causing tyres to emit smoke?
KnightNewscast replied to Syncephe's topic in General
Discouraged for those without prior experience. Driving an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is much more challenging, and any damage incurred is also more costly to fix. -
I have recently seen...I believe that my first perception of what I saw in my automobile may have been incorrect. Make sure to disable the "auto" function and set the thermostat to a higher temperature than the inside of your vehicle. If you would, please test it with me. It is posited that when the "auto" function is off and the aforementioned requirements are satisfied, the airflow may be impeded until a satisfactory temperature is attained. It is important to note that today has been a long day for me, since I have been working since around 0300 and I have depleted my coffee supply.
-
If the temperature in the automobile is set below the ambient temperature, it will produce a chilly airflow. Nevertheless, if you have it configured as mentioned before, I think it should refrain from emitting cold air until it reaches the temperature requirement of the environment. I may be mistaken. You may consider having a dealer examine it.

Hello Sumoto, I appreciate your timely answers, friend. I lack expertise on automotive matters. Approximately two years ago, I had an oil leak, and this image was one of the ones my technician shared with me. Currently experiencing an unusual problem where my 4 series is loosing oil pressure specifically at highway speeds. Most postings on this topic report low oil pressure at idle or while braking, with pressure increasing as RPMs grow. In contrast, my issue is the reverse. I suspect I may have harmed my engine since the oil pressure indicator has illuminated twice while I was driving at 70mph, leading me to overanalyze and inquire about metal shavings. I just had her undergo a comprehensive service, including a flush and oil change. However, the pressure lamp illuminated for the second time on my trip back home yesterday night. Exasperated!

I have used a compact diagnostic apparatus to conduct a check, following the directions which specify to keep the ignition on and thereafter connect the device. However, the predicament is in the fact that the problem notice only appears while the engine is running. -
