16478-74180 - Toyota Parts Deal
-
I checked, and it appears to be out of stock. Deal on Toyota Parts - 16478-74180 Why couldn't I just cut a piece of 600 or 1000mm hose and insert it there? The inner diameters of all of them are likely to be approximately 5/16 inches.
-
Using your vehicle identification number (VIN), you can locate the small hose that connects your overflow reservoir to the radiator reservoir tank (Toyota Part No. 16478-74180, Hose, No. 3). See if this part number is in stock; it might be worth checking.
-
You could get that at any decent hardware store in your area; it's not even a moulded hose.
-
The hose that connects the reservoir to the radiator has the same part number as the one that goes into the reservoir, but I can't seem to locate it anymore. The 600mm hose (4T1SK12E3NU107380) is the right one for my vehicle, but it's only for the part of the hose that goes from the radiator to the reservoir. In order to connect it to the reservoir, I need to cut a piece of the 1000mm hose. I'm hoping it's the same ID, just longer.
-
Due to a lack of information specific to your vehicle, I was going to enquire as to its VIN in order to conduct a lookup and assist you. However, as mentioned in post #2, it is also possible for you to do it yourself.

Just enter your vehicle identification number (VIN) into the search bar and you'll be able to see which part number is correct. Toyota has copyright issues, so you won't see any diagrams. By the way, you're absolutely right about the millimetres; the abbreviation ND means Nippon Denso, which is why the parts department knows not to see Toyota-branded packaging.

The reservoir to radiator hose comes with two different part numbers. No. 3 Radiator Reserve Tank Hose, 16470J, 90445-12078, 5SFE..SXV10..NAP, 600 L L=1000,*ND,90099-33534, 5SFE, SXV10, NAP Two separate numbers, 600 and 1000. The thing I want to know is if the two dimensions (length and inner diameter) are identical. My understanding is that 600 and 1000 are measured in millimetres. The longer one would be perfect for the radiator to reservoir section and the one that goes inside the reservoir; that way I won't run out of room. For the 1000 hose, I am equally confused about the meaning of *ND.

Thank you. I've taken that step, so I know it will work. Thank you very much.

One option is to configure a "Custom" vehicle. After you add your vehicle, scroll down to "Other Kias" and select Kia. I have no idea if the app or charger notice this.
-
Sure, I'm grateful for the information. A fair amount of "rolling out" occurred at Tesla. To guarantee smooth compatibility with incoming electric vehicles, Tesla updates the hardware and software of its Supercharger network. I wanted to double-check that they are compatible with EV2s before I set out on my first several hundred-mile trip, since neither the Tesla app nor the Kia app shows the EV2 as a vehicle. You can be sure that everything will be resolved in due course. By the way, I figured I'd pop the question out into the daylight for now.
-
The question is why it wouldn't work; after all, it's only a CCS connection. I'm assuming you're referring to Tesla's public chargers.

Although I understand that the EV2 F.E. isn't the quickest charging electric vehicle, I'd become accustomed to charging my MG4 at the Tesla stations that were accessible to non-Tesla vehicle owners. Looks like EV2 is still missing from my app update. Since every other KIA electric vehicle is in stock, I've settled on "other kia" for the time being. The Tesla app claims it is compatible with the chargers, but it also suggests using the Kia charge app to find them. The Kia app does not include Tesla as an option. Does anyone know if it worked in the EV2 and if anyone has tried it yet? 😁👍

Given my propensity for gentle driving, with occasional bursts of speed but never approaching the limits, I utilise winter tires throughout the entire year on all my vehicles. In contrast to online myths, they do not deteriorate substantially faster during the summer. The wife's golf vehicle is equipped with Vredestein Wintrac tires, the Ford Ranger features Cooper Weathermaster tires, and the Touareg is fitted with Dunlop WinterSport tires. I previously purchased Cooper Discoverer Winter tires, but they are now difficult to locate and costly (formerly mid-range). During my ownership of two XC60s and two XC90s over the past 15 years, I achieved 40,000 to 45,000 miles from a single set of winter tires used year-round with one rotation (non R-Design models with 18" wheels). All-season tires have significantly advanced in recent years and may be somewhat intermediate between summer and winter tires in snowy conditions; however, this still implies that there are several locations from which one cannot return home without dedicated winter tires. Unless you have personally operated an AWD vehicle equipped with comprehensive winter tires in profound fresh snow, you cannot fully comprehend their transformative impact. The stopping distance on ice is approximately half that of all-season tires and a quarter that of summer tires. Numerous videos of examinations are available on YouTube.

That is an agreeable path and, as you mentioned, circumvents the turmoil on the highway. I had to collect family members from Manchester airport amidst a substantial snowfall and accomplished this using Pirelli summer tires on the BMW X1 AWD; it is an experience I would prefer not to repeat with those tires. I definitely avoided my customary path over Winnats Pass, opting instead for a route through Calver and onto the A6. The majority of my most terrifying encounters have occurred on the A9 beyond Perth. The conditions may appear quite pleasant initially, but as you proceed beyond Pitlochry, the climate begins to shift, and by the time you reach Dalwhinnie, you might reconsider the wisdom of this decision. Upon reviewing tyre evaluations, I am inclined toward the Goodyear Vector All Season 4 or the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 solely based on their efficacy in wet conditions, which appears to be predominant in our observations.

We utilise Michelin Cross-Climate 2 all-season tires on my wife's electric vehicle. They are approximately 75-80% as effective as winter tires. I occasionally utilise Goodyear UltraGrip Winter tires on my S60 throughout the entire year when I lack the motivation to change the wheels. Conditions can become somewhat reminiscent of Starsky and Hutch when temperatures exceed 30°C. A few years prior, we were returning from Scotland in mid-January when winter deposited approximately eighteen inches of snow as we traversed Belgium. My S60 continued without any problems. I am uncertain whether I would have been able to continue using all-season tires. That occurrence was a rare event of the decade. You expend your funds and select your preference. I typically drive approximately 8,000 miles annually in that vehicle. Friday evenings commuting from Plymouth to Sheffield I would prefer to travel the A6 from Derby to Chatsworth, then proceed over the summit to Dore, Ringinglow, and descend to Rivelin Valley instead of enduring the congestion on the A38/M1. A delightful conclusion to the expedition following the highway stretch.
-
Indeed, you may be correct; I am accustomed to observing snow at the height of the window. Circumstances have improved somewhat recently.

We are located off Ecclesall Road South, and the route to Hathersage from Sheffield takes approximately 10 minutes. Our path to Manchester airport is in that direction and involves passing through Castleton or circumventing it on an unfavourable day. Five to ten years ago, I would have likely invested in complete winter tires on spare rims, as prolonged periods of cold and snowy conditions were more prevalent; however, in recent years, such weather has become sporadic and considerably milder. Consequently, perceiving all seasons as a harmonious equilibrium that does not require alteration during temperate conditions.

My relatives by marriage resided just off the A57, fully equipped for winter. If you intend to navigate in that dreadful weather up there.
