no, what I mean is that the 2.6v could be coming from some other source, and the signal wire could be shorted to something (in the worst case scenario, the ddm). Not knowing the sensor data, pin values, and what they should be makes it difficult to determine.

I take it that you mean to connect the signal wire to an object that does not have voltage?

First, I'd look at a wiring diagram to make sure that pins 1-2-3 are the ones you measured. Then, I'd backprobe the signal wire voltage at the ecu pin. There might be a shorted wire if the voltage is off and the ignition is off.

Hello everyone, is anyone able to assist me? Here are the codes for my 2004 E60 525d (M57): A sensor for the exhaust back-pressure (004CF3) Problems with the DPF threshold or loading (481A/480A) • 4166—Concerning DPF I've already taken care of the exhaust temperature sensor in Bank 2 and the exhaust back-pressure sensor by replacing them with the proper ones. After cleaning and inspecting, the pressure hoses and DPF ports appear to be clear. No matter how much you turn off the engine, the live data will still display a constant of around 6.00 psi. It never goes below zero, though the last digits do flicker ever-so-slightly. The sensor connector was measured with the engine off and the ignition on: • Pin 1 → 5 V steady (excellent) • When the sensor is connected, Pin 2 (signal) maintains a constant voltage of 2.6 V. • (I'm assuming that ground is Pin 3). Maintaining a constant 2.6 V signal voltage is independent of engine speed. Is anyone familiar with this? Then what should I do? Reset the adaptation/zero point, check the wiring, or is there something else I should look at? Your input is valued. I am grateful.

Drinking five pints of Guinness before getting behind the wheel gave the impression that he didn't care much about other drivers. Thankfully, the other couple in the car escaped unharmed. The fact that he apparently passed out while the car was on fire makes it hard to empathize with him. At least he won't be able to murder anyone again because of his own choices and deeds. What a tragic loss for his loved ones.

Hello, I have added dpf cleaner and egr cleaner to my fuel tank, and I exclusively use premium fuel. The car doesn't automatically regenerate; instead, it alerts me when it needs to be done, so I have to manually do it every two weeks or so, after approximately 170 miles. Someone informed me that it's the egr valve/filter. At one point, I was still using my brand-new dpf, nox sensors, and egr valve while driving 130 miles each way to and from work on the highway. My only hope is that this error will be manageable because I am sick of paying out.

Could it be that the EGR sensor is malfunctioning or the EGR valve? My understanding was that there should be conditions under which the exhaust gas is recycled to the intake system, but for some reason, the valve is staying open, so it's happening all the time. So that's not good. Because the ECU will reduce the impact on your engine, you might not realize anything is wrong until it breaks. For that reason, a warning light is present. Would premium fuels or diesel additives work? Between dpf regenerations, how far do you typically drive and how long do you typically let it run? About 160 miles and 444 minutes of mining.

The next time you take it in for a MOT, if a warning light is on the dashboard, it will likely fail. This is due to a malfunctioning emissions device rather than any concern about emissions; in fact, it is highly unlikely that the test will even activate the EGR valve.

Greetings to all! My 68-plate Evoque is an Ingenium with a 2-liter diesel engine. During the 97,000 miles that this vehicle has been on the road, it has undergone routine maintenance that includes replacing the timing chain, 4 glow plugs, 2 dpf, an egr valve and nox sensor, a faulty parking sensor, and a full service every so often. Ever since the timing chain was changed, the car has been running smoothly. However, a malfunctioning egr valve has once again brought the engine light on. Is it okay if I just leave it as is? Please assist, as it is functioning properly and I manually regenerate it every two weeks.

Unless I'm on an expressway or an unobstructed three-lane highway, I usually avoid using the LTA in my 2024 PHEV. When I'm commuting in the city, I disable it. It remains passively operational, but you are in control of it. Especially when combined with Adaptive Cruise Control, its pinpoint accuracy as I drove down the M1 from Doncaster for the first time was mind-blowing. Unless I'm on a highway, I don't think it's smart enough to manage narrow or single-lane roads, much less heavy, congested traffic in London.
