Seeking a bit of wisdom before diving into the deep end of buying a car from Lamsam Logistics.

Hey everyone,
I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles.
They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car.
Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them?
I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.

I have not had any interaction with Lamsam Logistics in particular but repossessed vehicles are not necessarily a cause for concern. For instance, I acquired a Honda Accord from a finance auction several years ago and it proved to be an exceptionally reliable vehicle.
Conduct your own investigation, as while some offers appear to be legitimate, others are not.

I've also seen adverts on Facebook, and I'm wary of cars that appear "too cheap" when buying online. My policy is that if I can't view the vehicle before making a payment, I will rethink.

This is my main worry, as I've never taken the plunge on a car online without laying my eyes on it first. I usually cast my net wide across different platforms for local cars and then hit the pavement to check them out in person. However, my daughter seems head over heels for this car, and I want to make sure that Lamsam Logistics are on the up and up and not pulling the wool over our eyes, if you catch my drift.

Hi @Mututing, Earlier this year I concluded a transaction with Lamsam Logistics. I acquired a 2021 Hyundai Kona that had been repossessed by a financial institution at an exceptionally appealing price. Therefore I can confidently assert that this company is legit, as evidenced by my personal experience rather than solely by the stories and opinions I have encountered online.

I was careful, that's true. I have already searched for independent mentions online, spoken with Lamsam Logistics many times over the phone, and verified their registration info.
The fact that they are obviously a transport company first and foremost helps.

I didn't have to return mine, but I made sure I knew that before I paid. They made it very clear that you can return the car within 10 days for a full refund if you're not happy with it, as long as the condition hasn't changed.

I saw the post and decided to go down to their unit in Belfast just to check things out for myself. It was closed as it was a Saturday, but there were several trucks with their branding, trailers, and a lot of vehicles parked outside. Looks like that’s their stock. Either way, they clearly exist and aren’t just a website.
