Engine Oil Alert

Hello everyone, to provide context, I had an A service performed on my 2018 E Class on December 19th of last month. I travelled from Frimley Green to Swindon (58 miles) but on the way home , alarmingly at around 70mph on the M4 my dashboard suddenly flashed up Reduced Engine Oil, I dismissed the message and as soon as I got off the motorway stopped to checked the oil level. I have since discovered that my model is not equipped with an oil dipstick. It was not until. Upon returning home, I discovered that I could monitor the oil level via the dashboard computer. I attempted this, but although it indicated that a measurement was in progress, no oil level was displayed. Has anyone else had this issue? Was it a defective alarm, a malfunctioning sensor, or did the operator fail to adequately secure the sump plug during servicing?
I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow to have them assess the oil level; if it is insufficient, I will be somewhat displeased. After attempting to locate the dipstick with a light, I am confident that I can observe oil in the plastic tray beneath the engine.

Any feedback before to tomorrow would be very appreciated.

It is more probable that it is requesting you to decrease the oil level. Vehicles equipped with the OM654 engine are notoriously sensitive regarding oil levels. I often add 0.5 litres less than the quantity indicated on WIS due to complaints regarding overfilling when the specified amount is used. The electronic gauge is challenging to interpret. Typically, it requires thirty minutes of jogging to manifest, however this duration appears to be inconsistent. I prefer to observe them in the midpoint between the minimum and maximum when a reading is obtainable. Setting it to maximum will inevitably result in receiving the reduction notification at some stage.

While your vehicle may not have been equipped with a dipstick, there are web vendors that offer them for your reassurance. It is essential to ensure that you have the correct one, as lengths differ.

It is accessible as a workshop component; nevertheless, most dealers choose not to offer them to the public.
