Preedom
Acquired my maiden electric vehicle today. The Midnight Black GT S. I conducted a 'test' charge with my Hypervolt charger, allocating just a few minutes to the schedule. The doors were ajar. Upon completion of the charging process, I had significant difficulty in extracting the cable. I attempted to lock and open the doors many times. Ultimately, it succeeded. I searched in Settings to locate the information from the online handbook on changing the charging cable lock to Never Lock. Unable to locate it. Could someone simplify this procedure for me? Where can I find the 'Never lock cable' option in the Settings? Do you have any suggestions? I understand that unlocking the doors should allow the cable to disengage, but it did not. FreexPatty
Honestly, wires are really difficult to extract. It is necessary to align it precisely for easy removal. Considering mine will be four in March, it may still be difficult to extricate myself. I would not leave the cable unlocked whilst charging. It permits anybody to extract it, should they want to do so. Will not do any harm, but will result in no charge. My procedure occurs at home. Unlock the vehicle, open the flap, insert the cable, and secure the vehicle. Upon completion, unlock the vehicle while standing, then disengage the cable by pulling it directly outward. Accomis
I have not yet charged the EV3; nevertheless, with our Kia Soul, we always secured the vehicle while charging (AC), and when the vehicle was unlocked, the wire was easily detached.
rauman
With the soul, one has the ability to choose. The cable becomes unlocked upon charging. Detach the cable by unlocking the vehicle.
Angurita
Upon unlocking the vehicle, you have around ten seconds to disconnect, specifically for the E-Niro model.
Preedom
Yesterday was my first experience. I have never owned an electric vehicle before. It was also proposed to unlock many times. I will attempt it next time. Thank you
CleverPixel
I conducted my first test charge yesterday on my EV3 (GTS Midnight Black as well), and I can confirm that it performs well upon release from my possession. This is my second electric vehicle, and I am aware that there is a time constraint before the charging port relocks. I had a similar scenario with my first electric vehicle (eGolf) and practiced many times. I agree that it is preferable to refrain from activating the "Never Lock Cable." My one complaint is that it is necessary to open the bottom flap to charge the AC, which might allow water to enter if left overnight. In my eGolf, this is unnecessary for AC charging and is rather logical; while they have likely accommodated for this, it remains illogical. My charger is a Zappi. My locking and unlocking procedure resembles that of iooi; if I encounter any difficulties, I just lock or unlock the vehicle.
FreexPatty
It seems peculiar that the DC flap must be removed for air conditioning charging.
WannaVulture
I have charged my EV3 on AC several times without ever needing to release the bottom DC flap. Is your plug of an unusual shape?
Preedom
Thank you, everyone. I have decided on the option 'Unlock once charged' and will evaluate its performance over the weekend.
VibrantShin
Allow me to examine it and make another attempt. Perhaps it is the configuration of my Zappi nozzle? It may be recent.I will verify.
HeadlinesQuick
I use a tethered Zappi charger at home with my EV3, and have had no complications, nor do I need to open the DC cover to charge.
