Meltarb
Good day, everyone. While repairing my drop links today, I saw an oil deposit on one of the main pipes at the front of the vehicle, namely on the driver's side (right-hand drive), which is also the lowest part of the car. I have attempted to track it from the upper section of the engine compartment, but I am unable to discern anything. It does not leak in the sense of dripping into the floor; nonetheless, could anybody assist with identifying potential issues in this region that may be contributing to this problem? Meltarb
Apologies, I should have specified the 2011 C-Class equipped with the OM651 engine.
AmericaMonster
The intercooler pipe is likely fractured in the top section, which is not visible; if this is the case, you may be experiencing a loss of power due to a boost leak.
Meltarb
Thank you for your response. That is logical. I have had the automobile for a little while and have perceived it to be quite slow. Attribute it to having the lowest output OM651. I will get a new hose. Is it correct to assume that there is often a little quantity of oil in the intercooler line connected to the turbocharger? Videoman
It is usual for them to exhibit little oil leakage. A boost leak will likely result in limp mode accompanied by an engine light.
Jollyno
Indeed, my Alfa consistently exhibited seepage from that location, regardless of the sealing methods used. Similar to yours, it never produced real drips on the ground, rather remaining damp.
Bridgenix
An engine light may not always be present; it depends on the magnitude of the leak.
