Mezuzzi
I own a new 2024 Sportage GT Line S, which has a mechanism that allows the seat to retract, facilitating simpler entry and exit for those of advanced age like myself. I have discovered that it is ineffective from my selected memory location. If the seat position is in close proximity to the steering wheel, it is effective for limited distance going backward. It seems to be contingent upon the seat height. Although it is functional via the manual control on the side, it is frustrating when an anticipated feature fails to behave as intended. The technicians at the garage informed me that it does not necessary retract the whole distance, but rather a little amount to facilitate entry and exit. Has anybody else seen sporadic issues with the driver's motorised seat mechanism? I was initially optimistic about the Kia, but it has generated much disappointment in the few period I have had it. If the process of learning to love is too prolonged, I will return to the competition.
Istairde
Mine has never functioned correctly; in fact, it has never operated at all. Nonetheless, I use a workaround. The GT Line S has two seat memory settings; I have programmed memory position 1 for my driving posture and memory position 2 for the exit configuration, which I adjusted to the lowest and farthest back setting. The advantage of this approach is that it allows a more extensive movement of the seat overall. As my brother describes it, being somewhat 'nutritionally deficient,' I need as much space as possible. π It quickly becomes instinctive to choose option 1 and option 2 prior to leaving. Mezuzzi
Thank you for the suggestion; I have begun to use the same practice when I recall to press button 2 before to leaving. While you are online, have you had any issues with your radio reception and the receipt of traffic alerts? My radio fails to provide traffic alerts, despite the TA box being selected. Additionally, when I eventually access the DAB channel, it does not switch to the FM version in areas with inadequate DAB coverage. I believe they are only an inferior aerial system. What is your status?
Istairde
I must confess I have never taken the initiative to establish traffic alerts, since I do not consistently listen to the radio. I mostly use Carplay with Google Maps, hence depending on traffic notifications from Google. I may configure notifications for the times I have the radio on. When I listen to the radio, it is often the BBC national stations on DAB. I have not had any issues with the signal, and while it is configured to switch to FM if needed, I have never seen this occurring. While some have had issues with DAB station dropout, my has performed quite well. I must be very fortunate, or it is due to my consistent engagement with the powerful stations. Dudeta
Indeed, it is my practice! That is contingent upon my recollection to choose memory 2 prior to powering off and attempting to exit.
HolyRoach
The mechanism in my device works well. The driving posture may depend on your height and leg length.
Messand
If your seat is positioned beyond the midpoint, the "normal" option may not allow for additional rearward adjustment. Consider adjusting to the "extended setting" to see if it shifts farther back.
Grundysp
Mine works as anticipated, and I have configured it to the minimal slide-back setting.
Boxck
I have had four of these devices, and they have always functioned flawlessly when configured to the "extended" position in the settings.
