Greetings, everyone.
I received a quote from Indi for gearbox servicing amounting to £234. Do you think this is a reasonable price?

Additionally, I would want to enquire if they do a gearbox flush or a standard procedure?
Alternatively, should I enquire with them on the following day?

Apologies for asking, but this is the first time my automobile need a gearbox service.

Thank you.

Who is doing the ATF service? I would be glad if the location is SPR in Stockport. They upload films on YouTube showcasing a variety of workshop tasks, and he demonstrates great attention to detail.
I am not aware of any individuals that do a gearbox flush as part of their gearbox service.
If you own the 7-speed gearbox, the price is reasonable.

What substance do you anticipate them using to flush it?

Typically, individuals just remove and replace the oil, along with installing a new filter.

While some do torque converter oil changes, not all, including Mercedes-Benz.

The price is favourable. 👍

Currently, I am contemplating if it is necessary for me to do a gearbox oil change on my just acquired 2018 E Class 220, w213 Automatic, awaiting the receipt of the anticipated service history report. As a routine practice, I replaced all the oils in my two prior Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a 2010 model and a 2014 model. I have seen many YouTube videos about the procedure, and it seems to be quite straightforward. However, in a particular video, I saw that just the transmission fluid was replaced, but the torque converter fluid was left unchanged. When I enquired about this, I was advised that Mercedes Benz recommends against changing the torque converter fluid. That being said, I have always held the belief that engine and gearbox fluids and filters are replaced with precision in order to purify the fluid and safeguard the moving components from detrimental particles. Has anybody on the forum been familiar with the concept of partial fluid change, as suggested by Mercedes-Benz?

I received a quote from Deutsche Autohaus Ltd. I appreciate you mentioning SPR, since I was not previously aware of them.
On their website, the ATF service is priced at £250. Additionally, they provide a software upgrade for the 7g gearbox for £100. Is the software update worth the cost?

It is believed that the friction materials present in the oil between the clutch plates contribute to the extension of driving power and prevent slippage in the clutches.Perhaps a significant distance measurement, but there is a specific rationale behind it.

While there may not be a definitive answer, I have always ensured that I install software updates for both the engine electronic control unit (ECU) and the gearbox control unit (TCU) as they become available, with the exception of the 'Dieselgate' scandal. Brooklands, the dealer, invoiced me £60 for this particular service.
