Transmission and motor lubricant replacements

Esteemed colleagues, I have recently acquired my inaugural MB B (B Class petrol, manual 2012).
I am seeking assistance regarding the matter of oil changes, as I appear unable to obtain a clear response from primary dealers and "specialised" Mercedes-Benz service providers. To ensure my tranquillity, I desire both an engine oil and a gearbox oil change, as I lack any record of these services. I have reached out to numerous establishments and received varied responses from each. Could someone please verify if I am able to have the gearbox oil changed (with or without the filter) as well as the engine oil along with its filter? I appreciate it.

Are you implying that the garages are unwilling to accept your payment for an engine oil and filter replacement?
Manual transmissions are rarely discussed in this forum. They do not possess a gearbox ATF and filter replacement akin to an automatic gearbox, thus I would refrain from doing it.

I sincerely appreciate your response. Indeed, they are all quite eager to accept my funds! The dilemma arises from differing opinions on whether a gearbox oil change can be performed for approximately £400 during a service, with some asserting it is feasible while others claim it is impossible due to the gearbox being a sealed sump. During my youth, I would perform my own tasks, and oil changes required approximately one hour! Currently, I am hesitant to slide beneath vehicles, necessitating payment for services. It appears exceedingly challenging to obtain a clear narrative regarding this matter. I appreciate it nonetheless. P.S. Could you clarify what an ATF is? Best wishes.

I would complete it for tranquillity, as it seems to be merely a straightforward fluid replacement. £400 appears to be substantial, to be honest; that's approximately what I spent on an automatic gearbox service and cooler hoses locally, where labour costs are significantly higher. Your location indicates the south coast; are you in proximity to PCS?

The whole servicing thing is really worrying me right now, so I'm grateful for the tip. One could argue that having "official" agents register customers for repairs and services is the way to go. Meanwhile, the cost of doing this is exorbitant. Concerning the South Coast, my name is South Coast West Sussex. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

A suction pump, such as the Pela, might be useful if getting under things is an issue. Very few people here actually remove the hood to swap out the oil.
The oil filter is located on top of the petrol tank, right?

So far, I haven't heard of anyone changing the fluid in their manual box. My best guess is that it's a differential with a drain plug and a top-up plug.

How far have you driven?

An MB Indie should have no trouble keeping up with the digital age. I have accepted the receipts as proof of service regardless.
