Thankfully, a replacement engine—a 2 litre 1987 BMW straight six from a 5 series—is now available for purchase in place of the original engine in a Bristol. Any feedback you have regarding the engine would be much appreciated. A high-pressure pump and a return line to the tank are likely necessities due to the fuel injection system. The transmission looks to be automatic and is likewise made by BMW. What I want to know is if the ECU (which is also apparent in the pictures) need data from the speedo because I can make out an instrument binnacle. On the other hand, does it trigger the rev counter? Additionally, I'm assuming it's fuel, but I should probably check with the seller to be sure. I take it the ECU is where you can adjust the settings, right? Lightweight and aerodynamic, the original automobile didn't require a lot of power. Also, it has drum brakes! I would be very grateful for any feedback you could provide.

My R171 SLK came with factory fit 17s from the factory and that's more than enough for us. Blobcat's 2009 280, which is his daily driver and has logged 100,000 miles, is still on 16s, so I wouldn't recommend going to 18s if you're fond of your teeth and fillings. I don't think 18s are the right size since they will make the ride excessively stiff and unpleasant, make it harder to find affordable tires, and increase the likelihood of wheel and rim damage on our lovely bumpy roads.

Hi Recent acquisition: 2017 ed4 se, 2.0 ingenium, 6-speed manual. I learned after buying these that they are problematic. The car is easy to drive and has a whisper-quiet engine. On 73000, simplewarranty.co.uk quoted £46/month for three years.Has anybody dealt with these?Being cautious is my main priority because I do not have an infinite budget for maintenance. They claim to address timing chains, dpf, and almost everything else, with the exception of normal wear and tear.

I consistently deactivate mine. The last thing I desire is an additional caution light indicating a temperature of 3°C or below. I can resolve that independently.

It is primarily a matter of inspecting for dampness, as a gradual leak such as yours will not produce a puddle; the heat exchanger facilitates evaporation. However, you should see either desiccated coolant or a moist area. If the leak were into the gear oil, the gearbox would exhibit malfunctions.

The gearbox heat exchanger is known to lose coolant without exhibiting visible leaks.

In EV mode, do you operate at modest speeds or fast speeds with vigorous acceleration? I have observed that operating in EV mode at modest speeds and avoiding abrupt acceleration significantly enhances range predictions, especially during winter conditions.
