There appears to be a communication issue among the Car, the KIA Servers, and the App. The vehicle utilises a SIM card, similar to a mobile phone with a Vodafone connection.
Issues may arise when traversing regions with inadequate mobile reception. Similar to a mobile device, when a legitimate signal is absent, the car may engage 'Emergency' mode and thereafter become immobilised in that condition.
The sole remedy I have discovered is to undertake the following, but exclusively in an area with adequate mobile reception. Upon successful completion, it is probable that this task will not require repetition.
1. Reinitialise the head unit to facilitate the SIM's reset and reconnection. To accomplish this, with the vehicle running, insert a pen nib or a comparable object into the little aperture adjacent to the volume control. Allow the infotainment system to reboot.
Verify if the vehicle has a signal. In the upper right corner of the infotainment display, there is a little 'Kia' emblem accompanied by mobile bars indicating connection strength. If there is no signal, relocate to an area with superior reception.
3. From the main screen of the infotainment system, navigate to 'KIA Connect' and then select 'KIA Connect Settings'. Press [Reconfigure] and await confirmation of the connection.
4. Restart your mobile device and attempt to use the application again. If unsuccessful, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the application.
I trust this will be effective for you.
