  1. I wouldn't stress over it. As soon as I start the engine, I switch mine off. I have never understood its purpose.
  2. If the engine speed increases as you approach peak torque and then decreases as you decelerate or exceed peak torque, it's quite probable that your clutch is Donald Duck-y.Putting it in top gear at approximately 50 makes it somewhat labour, which is another test. Be sure not to take your foot off the throttle while you swiftly depress the clutch pedal and then release it. The engine should rev quickly before lowering with a thud when the clutch is fully engaged. If the revs take a while to fall back down and they do it with a slur, it's time to change the clutch.
  3. It can only be attributed to a poor connection. When you jump-start it, are you utilising the jump point located under the hood? Inspect the ground connection as well as the one on the engine.
  4. We also experienced a leaking windscreen.
  5. Thank you, but the issue existed before to the chain; it is an occasional error. It can last for days without occurring, and then it will. Additionally, I am alarmed by the local garage's report that someone had their chain replaced, only for it to fail again within a year.
  6. Hello, I hail from Cheshire, United Kingdom. Regrettably, I have recently lost my husband, who possessed a 2016 diesel Evoque. During the most recent MOT, it was noted that a minor rattle was audible from the timing chain. The vehicle has travelled 67,000 miles. The replacement of the chain and related components incurred a cost of £3000. My spouse was unwell at that time; he just drove the car back from the garage and never drove again. He stated prior to his demise that I am It is presumed that you will retain the Evoque given the financial investment made in it. I appreciate the automobile; yet, I am somewhat apprehensive after reviewing the negative reports regarding the Ingenium engines. My emotions convey one message while my intellect communicates another. It exhibits an intermittent malfunction whereby releasing the accelerator results in the vehicle maintaining or increasing speed until the accelerator is pressed again. I am apprehensive that the chain may break again or that the turbo may fail. What should I do? I would like to retain it, but I fear it may become a financial burden. My vehicle is a Nissan Juke.
  7. Interesting thread. I’ve just seen a 2022 Audi A4 Black Edition listed by Ballykeel Logistics on eBay. The price made me suspicious at first so I almost ignored it. After reading this discussion, I think I’ll give them a call and see how they sound over the phone.
  8. Thank you; the swap has already been checked and is not the issue. The infotainment system lacks electricity; but, after removing and reinserting the fuse, it resumes operation, allowing me to toggle it on and off using the power switch.
  9. Greetings to everybody! Occasionally, my radio-satellite navigation equipment fails to activate. After I interrupt a circuit (by removing and reinserting the fuse or disconnecting the battery for charging), functionality is restored; but, after a few days of use, the issue reoccurs. Has anybody had a similar issue? What may be defective and need replacement?
  10. Thank you. Are there any indicators, apart from a chilly rattle, that suggest a chain is deteriorating?
  11. Hello everyone, I just acquired a 2012 320d with 100,000 miles and want to go on a vacation throughout Europe in the next weeks, covering around 4,000 kilometres. Whenever I research the 320ds, particularly the N47 model, I encounter discussions on the timing chain issue. I am contemplating if it is advisable to address this concern before to my purchase or whether it is overstated.
  12. I own a glass roof in my Honda CR-V, and some companies declined to provide insurance; nevertheless, mine (Admiral) did so without any complications. It is reportedly a costly replacement, however all Honda 'EX' models of the CR-V come equipped with this glass roof as standard. This was the first time I encountered this problem.
  13. The only regulatory restriction seems to be 1.5mm; nevertheless, by that point, it is too late to operate the vehicle. I think it is an implicit guideline that most garages will alert you when the brake pads go below 3mm. In my situation, they would have secured the work anyway, since the garage next is far more economical than the Kia dealer, and, as I said, it would not result in the vehicle being out of service. I have no objection to the needed task. It is only the situation. If I had been driving even average mileage, it would not have survived until this MOT, and I may be facing rotor damage as well. In response to your comment on Advisories, if they maintain it at 1.5mm, they will undoubtedly secure the job, since it becomes undriveable.
