  1. There is no pillar present. Instead, while opening the driver's door, a black plastic piece can be seen on the fender side. That is the source of the noise. The pillar is empty.
  2. In my opinion, I believe that the essential features on the wheel should be limited to the volume controls, call button, skip track function, and cruise control. The touchscreen buttons on my steering wheel make it difficult to push 'continue' for cruise control without looking, since I could accidentally touch another function. I could inadvertently press the 'OK' button located right above when attempting to raise the cruising speed, since there seems to be no clear separation between them on the control panel.
  3. I just bought a 2023 E-Class AMG Line which has touchscreen buttons on the steering wheel. I liked the previous type buttons seen in the picture below. I am having trouble managing things without needing to glance at the driving wheel repeatedly. Although I may get used to it with time, I now find it challenging to change the cruise control speed. Is it possible to integrate physical buttons onto these steering wheels? Is replacing the complete steering wheel my only choice?
  4. Thank you, Inspirli, for your prompt responses. I have decided to purchase the scan tool in order to avoid wasting a day or two due to irritation.
  5. I am substituting a BMW-stamped battery with a capacity of 90 ampere-hours and a cold cranking amp rating of 900, with an Exide battery that has a capacity of 95 ampere-hours and a cold cranking amp rating of 850. I get that this is classified as a "same battery" because to its alignment with the 90ah categorization. The intention was to choose a battery that is not manufactured by BMW. I have no intention of switching to a different battery size or transitioning from AGM to wet cell. The version of my ISTA is 3.54.10/11, which is from 2016 and considered fairly outdated. The last two screenshots show the option to choose the ABL register battery, which unfortunately leads to a blank page. Nevertheless, I fail to comprehend why ISTA+ does not recognise a battery even though it is considered the next advancement in BMW software and all connections are functioning properly. If there is an expedited method to upgrade my ISTA to a more recent version, I would be willing to attempt it...? I am little apprehensive about upgrading ISTA due to the arduous process it took to get it functioning properly.
  6. Thank you,Inspirli. The device is a 2018 edition. Frankly, it was rather challenging to configure, and I am worried that I could make a mistake if I update it. Can I quickly upgrade by downloading a newer version of ISTA + and replacing the old version? Considering ISTA+ as the successor to ISTA-D, I expected the process of programming a battery to be straightforward...
  7. Greetings, everyone. Upon choosing the "register battery" option, the screen displays "layer 4" and "register battery ABL". However, it does not go any further and fails to provide more choices. Do you have any insights on the current situation? Ista+ effectively performs fault code recognition and resetting, ensuring seamless connectivity with the automobile.
  8. M3, I envision that it would possess a higher value compared to the i4 if you decide to sell it in the future, if that aids your rational decision-making rather than being influenced by emotions. 😄
  9. Fascinating inquiry on insurance. I eagerly await the response.
