  2. Hey everyone, I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles. They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car. Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them? I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.
  3. Additionally, smoke testing will undoubtedly reveal whether the throttle body area, brake boost, and crankcase breather pipe snap off.
  4. Is that the short line that I've drawn here connecting the bypass valve's vacuum actuator to the horn side of the valve?
  5. have air leaks Verify that the small black pipe connects to the supercharger horn; the end with the rubber cap has separated. same as before, smoulder it
  6. Unexpectedly high or low readings outside of the sensor's parameters are definitely the result of something. I will have to look into what you suggest, but I don't know the system well enough to give it a specific name. However, please inform us of the results of the checks.
  7. It seems like the engine is going straight onto boost, and I'm worried the bypass valve is stuck closed. The hoover connection might have been knocked off, so I should go see. It seems to be in line with it since I also received identical problem codes. Is it feasible to you?
  8. Great job! Please inform us of your findings so that we can guide you.
  9. I see. Is it possible that it can take in air too easily? It will be interesting to see what the code reader shows, which I borrowed today.
  10. If you suspect a leak, whether it's from the intake, exhaust, or supercharger side, I recommend performing a smoke test and fixing any damaged components. To find out what's going on, check the real-time data, which may include things like temperatures, throttle positions, fuel trims, and more.
  11. Last night I replaced the head gasket on my R52 Cooper S. The engine started up without a hitch, however it went into overdrive almost instantly (I neglected to check the engine rev limit). From what I can tell, it could be vacuum lines or low voltage levels; however, I have not been able to locate this specific issue on the forum; could you perhaps point me in the direction of a good starting point?
  12. My apologies. Invest in an electric vehicle 🤛 The titles 1966 and 2066 are confusing because the former did not come out until 1999 while the latter is still in the works.
  13. Thank you once more; I am almost there.
  14. According to Honest "real mpg"—a metric that takes data from actual owners—a manual 1.4 gets 41 mpg, while an automatic gets 33 mpg. However, the roads used and each driver are unique.
  15. Just picture an egg gently resting beneath your accelerator pedal — that's how soft it is.
  16. Is there anyone who can provide some useful guidance regarding fuel efficiency?
  17. The large pulsation damper is responsible for the spikes that activate the light. Just to be safe, I'd swap everything out, then properly bleed the system before the rodeo.
  18. Regarding the matter at hand, I took the vehicle for a little spin yesterday night. The road had some uneven patches. ABC—be cautious—the red light flashed on the dashboard with each curve. Even in the dark, the red light flashed on and off. This time, there was no fluid or leak. The car descended rapidly but rose very slowly. On sometimes, while driving, I could make out clicking noises emanating from both the back and the front of the vehicle. There must be someone in the Slough area who can find and fix the problem if the garage can't. The current responses suggest either a pulsating dampener or accumulators, which will require replacement in any case. Am I to assume anything else before returning? It is appreciated.
  19. That may occur if the system contains air or if the valves are not operating properly, leading to the reservoir being overfilled with pressure.
  20. When I glanced at the reservoir tank dipstick, it appeared as though oil was dripping out of it. Oil was quite hot, and that appeared to have been lifted. I had an independent Mercedes garage take care of the mixing system. I can only speculate and pray that everything went according to plan. A red warning light goes on as I'm driving over several speed bumps. When you see red, please drive carefully.
  21. An ABC problem exists if CHF11S is present in an unexpected place. Verify that the system has been adequately bled before opening it.
  22. Greetings everyone; The front engine bay and floor of my 2003 R230 Mercedes SL500 were covered in ABC oil. Three weeks ago, I had a refurbished pump, some pipes, and a valve block replaced. The red srs light turned on a few days ago when I started the car. The vehicle seemed to be adrift. For a few seconds, the left and right corners went down and up, respectively, before coming to a halt. The following evening, as I was parking and reversing the car, I double-checked the fluid levels, which were fine. Noticed smoke issuing from the engine grill. Bonet was open and ABC was all over the place once again. A Mercedes expert had thought another pipe had burst, but there were no visible signs of a leak. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with this. It is appreciated.
  23. It seems like a dual mass flywheel is about to break. Have encountered the issue with two Peugeots previously. Quite pricey. Offered them to a major dealer for sale.
  24. I would be more concerned about an ignition problem if the indicated revs suddenly dropped. When shifting gears, under what conditions might the engine speed decrease as a result of a slipping clutch? If the gear indicator warning light comes on, it's likely because the car has detected the stated decrease in revs and believes you're trying to overwork the engine. The car would slow down if the engine rpm suddenly drop, so it's possible that the revs are hesitating rather than dropping. However, since the tacho and gear indicator advisory are powered by ignition pulses, they can be influenced by a misfire. It is necessary to read the code that is thrown when the ignition fails to work. Sixth gear on my six-speed manual gearbox allowed me 30 mph at 1000 rpm, fifth gear 25 mph and fourth gear 20 mph. By comparing the pace at which the engine is revving in relation to the revolutions per minute (rpm), you should be able to identify clutch slip.
  25. What matters most for early clutch wear is how the clutch has been handled by prior owners, not the mileage or history of the vehicle.
