Hey everyone, I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles. They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car. Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them? I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.

Basically, it's a game of cat and mouse. With a massive underground economy, the authorities are frantically trying to catch up. However, the trade in unlawful modifications will persist so long as there are individuals ready to purchase and others wanting to sell.

I remember hearing Olly's a few years ago; it sounded normal until he pressed the gas pedal to the floor.
-
I see your point. Earlier today, I stopped into a nearby MOT station. It turns out that VOSA is releasing new emissions testing devices that connect to the OBD2 port in addition to the tail pipe emissions output measuring device. According to the tester, it records the engine temperature, revs, and other data from the car under test. Therefore, it may be worthwhile to keep all the cats for the time being.
-
No matter how well it passes the emissions test, removing either cat would technically result in a MOT failure because it is against the rules to remove or alter any factory-fit emissions equipment. Before you remark, "Well, mine passed without secondary," I'll respond: that's fine; we all know it happens sometimes, but it shouldn't. Both of my local test guys have been through mystery shop style inspections this year. One of them had a hollow DPF, which he found, and the other had an EGR that was missing (not programmed out). Now that he's doing so well on his tests, things will only become worse. Adblue deleters and kitten removers, take note: the Ministry will be pursuing you shortly, if not this year or even next.😄

MOT - Removing Primary Cats while retaining Secondary
MrTinkerFix replied to CoralNova's topic in General
Gold is the colour of choice for C63 m156 mufflers (backboxes). They are also very expensive when used. -
Much obliged. I am at the age where I can't stand drone very much anymore, so I'm keeping the resonator even though I was looking at c63 backboxes.
-
If you plan on removing the primary cats and replacing them with LTHs and 200 cel sports cats, you'll probably have to code out the O2 sensors. In addition, you increase the likelihood of a MOT failure—perhaps not immediately, but in the future when regulations change. My E55's secondary cats were recently swapped out for an x-pipe. Obtaining a set of C63 M156 back boxes will allow you to fully unlock the vehicle. The only part that needs to be trimmed and rewelded to suit the E55 are the hangers.
-
Greetings everyone, Many people have opted to remove the secondary cat but have kept the primary in and passed the MOT. Is there a way to eliminate the primary cats while retaining the secondary ones, such using long tube headers? I'm curious to hear about your configuration. My vehicle's emissions have been fine. Hopefully someone has already done this on their W211 AMG. Many thanks

I was down to 22 miles this morning, but it was snowing and sleeting for most of the night as it charged, so I guess 27 miles is a decent range for an electric vehicle right now. Hopefully I'll be back to 39 when summer rolls around, but for now just know that the charge range is far from maximum because it is winter.
-
I didn't consider that, but it's a valid argument. I recently checked the app, and I must admit, I'm still experiencing issues with my car's tendency to park in random places. However, you're right that it shows 27 at 100%, which is quite concerning.
-
Do you see the 100% charged symbol on the app after charging? At the top left side of the app, you can now see the newly configured status, anticipated range, and percentage of charge.
-
Yes, I am aware that it is winter, but I am at a loss as to how to charge the battery to 100% in my previous vehicle. Have they disabled your ability to do this? I'm only getting 27 miles from a full charge, but I believe it's only charging to 80%. If that is the case, it is useless because I got 27 out of the last one, which was four years old, but it was accurate to 100%. Even though I understand that I'm still getting the hang of driving, I really think that JLR might improve their performance with a new battery. Personally, I don't think my driving is that horrible.
-
The hue is great for your car, my friend. The armrest gets dirty fast, so you might want to invest in a cover.
-
Thank you everyone. It will look great when it's clean, but it has started to become dirty already, but it still looks fine, I suppose.
-
Impressive vehicle; I was considering purchasing one to replace my M340i, but ultimately decided to get an M5. My favourite shade of that
-
Your automobile is rather attractive.

What a lovely shade! Hello there!

Salutations, everyone, This Tanzanite Blue M440i GC with an Oyster interior, tech and comfort packs, a driving assistant, a sunroof, and originally from West Yorkshire, is the first BMW that the owner has ever owned. Mostly, VAG and Mercedes have been my points of contact. I began my driving career in a 2006 Volkswagen Polo, moved on to a Golf not long after, had a C204 Mercedes, drove a Jag XE-S for six months (extremely unreliable), and have been driving a Mercedes W205 for the past five years. Impressed by the B58's ride quality. You have already done a few things to the car, such as hardwiring the dashcam into the ridiculous fusebox under the driver's dash, fixing a sunroof squeak with silicone grease, and adjusting the bump stops for a rattling hatch. By the way, I recently had it detailed and coated with a three-year ceramic finish.
-
That's more than what I'm paid, friend. Whichever one is less expensive?

Everything I've been considering so far is compatible with the MB requirements. Really, I'm at a loss for a decision.regarding the benefits of 0w 30 vs 5W 40.
