  2. No matter the manufacturer, a generic code reader can read all powertrain (Engine and Transmission) codes. When the OBD2 standard was first introduced in the US in 1996, that was its entire purpose. When it comes to modules like airbags, anti-lock brakes, and others, you'll need a tool that can communicate with data specific to the manufacturer. Due to the engine-related nature of the issue, a generic reader should suffice.
  3. Achtung, spoiler! Despite what some may say, any obd reader will not be able to read Ford codes. You will need to invest in a dedicated device.
  4. Does the vehicle have any codes that have been scanned? To guide you in the correct way, there might be some codes that are still pending.
  5. Post back and we'll do our best to walk you through the limp mode if you're interested in learning more about it.
  6. Is it possible to remove the current bolt and bring it to your nearby B&Q to check if one of their "standard" metric nuts will fit? The thread count might not be standard, though, in terms of turns per millimetre. They should work with any old bolt if their pitch is 1.75. In such case, you'll have to consult catcar for the 7-digit Ford part number known as the finis code.data, as petesford has previously stated up there. Gather your vin number and input it into catcar.enter your vehicle's information to retrieve version-specific data. To switch to English from Russian, go to the page's top right and click the American flag.
  7. Do some research on the Ford-Catcar part.to determine if they are identical, or to simply remove the old one and measure it with a gauge. Get the diagnostic codes for the limp mode using an OBD2 reader or forscan.

  9. My little 1.4 TDCI Ford Fiesta has this strange place in my heart, and you can call me a mug if you want. No matter how much I try, the engine will never stop giving me the willies. It briefly entered limp mode yesterday and is now hesitant to load. Thirty miles later, after restarting the car, I made it home, but the underlying hesitation in acceleration remained. Just what is it? Additionally, I need a specific component—a bolt located on the underside of the rocket cover/air induction unit. Despite being the eighth owner, I've only ever used one of the two 8mm socket bolts that are on the back of this.
  10. Thank you. I will evaluate tomorrow.
  11. You should be able to spot a piece of rubber pipe sticking out of the door hinges if you look at them from the front.
  12. I am grateful. Even though I'll have to search more, I anticipate seeing them up front as well.

  14. I always assumed they were at the front (it's been a long since I've had a sunroof), so you got me on that. They were all up front when I was a kid, but they've all retired by now. bump..
  15. Greetings once more Sunroof made of panoramic glass is on mine. The sunroof tray is damp and there are little water stains on the seats from the recent heavy rain. Typically, the car is parked facing uphill, but this time it was parked facing downhill. I have verified that the drains mentioned in the owner's manual—located at the back of the sunroof and leading into the rear wheel arch—are indeed clear. Even with the deflector, it's hard to see, but there's no indication that the front of the assembly has any drains. Please, someone, tell me if the sunroof has any drains in the front. If not, I will need to ensure that I always confront challenges head-on. I am grateful.

  17. To check if the spark plugs are in good working order, remove them. Take a look at the power source and battery. When starting a car with a weak battery, a lot of power is required from the alternator—power that the engine needs to run well—after the car has started.
  18. 2009 Corolla that makes a lot of noise and has a rocky start. It starts up easily and runs smoothly after that. My guess is that this is something. I've thought about trying different plugs, but I'm still not sure if the fuel pump is the culprit.
  19. The fact that I have something to be angry with Stellantis about is more important than the fact that I use CarPlay, which I do happily. I still haven't had the opportunity to check the versions. If it has updated even once in the past two years, let alone three or four times, then maybe I am indeed up-to-date. Since I planned to use Google Maps and CarPlay most of the time, I didn't specify navigation when I bought the car because it came standard with other features (heated seats). The fact that Stellantis charges a premium price for a feature only to make it non-functional until you pay a monthly fee is revolting to me. The voice control option is no different.
  20. For fun, I asked AI, and it said that there is a world of difference between Peugeot USB updates and over-the-air updates. By inserting a large replacement file into the USB, the map database is overwritten. OTA updates database map tiles automatically whenever there is a change. 'Map up-to-date / last updated {date}' should be displayed by the latter, while the former uses the version reference (xx.y.z-Rx) that I mentioned earlier. Find out from AI how you can view this data in the vehicle or on the MyPeugeot app. I would be surprised if you could receive over-the-air map updates from Peugeot unless you had a subscription to i-Connect or something similar. Considering the price, I wonder if it isn't time to think about utilising CarPlay or Auto with your preferred navigation app instead. Given the number of problems I've encountered with my Peugeot TomTom, it's obvious that the French manufacturer uses a stripped-down version of the TomTom system. For instance, Peugeot's decision to omit the TomTom EV-specific route planning and trip management features is both foolish and obnoxious. Probably only to keep their licence expenses down. Rather than utilising the built-in screen, they provide an independent, non-integrated EV route planner app that is, according to everyone, pretty useless.
  21. It appears that the VIN option is no longer relevant for newer vehicles; instead, it directs you to the over-the-air update page. In a similar vein, I have no idea what the SRC button does, even though I've only ever used it to return to the previous channel of the radio—until the car switched it for me! Curious about the appropriate time to press SRC? I will go to the car and write down the most recent versions; I regret not doing so sooner.
