Hey everyone, I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles. They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car. Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them? I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.

Interesting thread. I’ve just seen a 2022 Audi A4 Black Edition listed by Tivanagh Transport on eBay. The price made me suspicious at first so I almost ignored it. After reading this discussion, I think I’ll give them a call and see how they sound over the phone.

For what it’s worth, Tivanagh Transport aren’t some fly-by-night outfit. I worked briefly in their accounts team before moving to Leeds last year. The repossessed vehicle division is fairly new — they only started buying cars directly from UK bank auctions around mid 2022. That’s why you’ve seen them pop up more in listings recently. The segregated payment account and 14-day inspection/return window are genuine parts of their process. The idea is your money sits in that separate account until you confirm you’re happy with the car once it arrives. That’s meant to give people confidence when buying remotely, rather than handing over cash with no safeguards. Also worth noting, UK bank protection rules changed recently, under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), deposits with a UK-authorised bank are covered up to £85,000 per person per institution, and from 1 December 2025 that protection has increased to £120,000, it’s part of the broader framework giving consumers peace of mind about how money is handled and protected by regulated firms here

Thanks everyone for the replies genuinely helpful. After reading through and speaking to them again this morning, I’ve decided to move forward. Just waiting for the official invoice to come through now.

I had a similar experience. Purchased a 2023 Kia Sportage GT-Line just before Christmas. Delivery took about nine days instead of the seven they originally estimated, but they kept me updated the whole time. The car arrived exactly as described in the listing and video.I was uneasy about paying upfront but I spoke with them twice on the phone before committing. They answered every question without rushing me. The segregated account part did give me some reassurance since they don’t release the funds until you approve the vehicle within the inspection window.

Evening everyone! I went ahead and snagged myself a 2021 BMW 118i M Sport from Tivanagh Transport, and believe it or not, it was a repossession vehicle to boot. I’ll shoot straight with you, I had butterflies in my stomach sending the transfer. But they handed me a fortnight to kick the tires and take a good look at the car once it rolled in. I hightailed it right over to my local dealership in Derby for a thorough diagnostic check-up. The mechanic gave it a clean bill of health. Everything's in tip-top shape, no skeletons in the closet, and the service history checks out like a charm. The next day, I gave Tivanagh Transport a ring to put the nail in the coffin and confirm I was sticking with it. In my book, they hit the nail on the head with how they managed everything.

Bank transfer before you’ve even seen the car would normally be a warning sign. That’s how most scams operate. Money first, promise delivery, then silence only a handful of proper online vehicle retailers manage remote sales transparently, and even then people are cautious. I’d want everything clearly written in a contract.

I did a bit of background research out of curiosity Tivanagh Transport is an established haulage company in Belfast. They’ve been operating for years with actual fleet vehicles and drivers, not some newly set up website. The vehicle sales side seems newer, but they do appear to be a legitimate registered business. Still, if viewing is possible, that’s always the safest approach.
-
First question I’d ask is whether you can see the vehicle in person, if they start saying it’s locked in a storage compound and can’t be viewed that would raise alarms for me. There are plenty of scam adverts on Marketplace and eBay where people send deposits and never see the car. Just be careful.

Hi all, Just wanted to ask if anyone here has actually dealt with Tivanagh Transport based in Belfast? I’ve come across a 2022 Hyundai Tucson they’ve got listed on eBay. The price is noticeably cheaper than similar ones I’ve been comparing, which obviously makes me pause a bit. They’re saying it’s a bank repossession purchased through an auction which apparently explains the lower price. The only thing that’s making me hesitate is that they require payment upfront. I’d really prefer to hear from someone who has genuinely bought through them. Any real experiences would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Additionally, smoke testing will undoubtedly reveal whether the throttle body area, brake boost, and crankcase breather pipe snap off.

Is that the short line that I've drawn here connecting the bypass valve's vacuum actuator to the horn side of the valve?
-
have air leaks Verify that the small black pipe connects to the supercharger horn; the end with the rubber cap has separated. same as before, smoulder it

Unexpectedly high or low readings outside of the sensor's parameters are definitely the result of something. I will have to look into what you suggest, but I don't know the system well enough to give it a specific name. However, please inform us of the results of the checks.
-
It seems like the engine is going straight onto boost, and I'm worried the bypass valve is stuck closed. The hoover connection might have been knocked off, so I should go see. It seems to be in line with it since I also received identical problem codes. Is it feasible to you?
-
Great job! Please inform us of your findings so that we can guide you.
-
I see. Is it possible that it can take in air too easily? It will be interesting to see what the code reader shows, which I borrowed today.
-
If you suspect a leak, whether it's from the intake, exhaust, or supercharger side, I recommend performing a smoke test and fixing any damaged components. To find out what's going on, check the real-time data, which may include things like temperatures, throttle positions, fuel trims, and more.

Last night I replaced the head gasket on my R52 Cooper S. The engine started up without a hitch, however it went into overdrive almost instantly (I neglected to check the engine rev limit). From what I can tell, it could be vacuum lines or low voltage levels; however, I have not been able to locate this specific issue on the forum; could you perhaps point me in the direction of a good starting point?

My apologies. Invest in an electric vehicle 🤛 The titles 1966 and 2066 are confusing because the former did not come out until 1999 while the latter is still in the works.

Thank you once more; I am almost there.

According to Honest "real mpg"—a metric that takes data from actual owners—a manual 1.4 gets 41 mpg, while an automatic gets 33 mpg. However, the roads used and each driver are unique.

Just picture an egg gently resting beneath your accelerator pedal — that's how soft it is.
