Greetings to all,
I am considering purchasing a 2008 CL500. What is the overall assessment of this model? Do you find it favourable, or is it fraught with issues?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the CLs appear impressive and can be acquired at a low cost. It is essential to acknowledge that you are purchasing a vehicle that originally retailed for approximately $100,000; hence, all associated parts and servicing will correspond to that initial cost, rendering them expensive. I would seek a vehicle with few previous owners, an extensive service history, and simply relish the experience. I am confident it will elicit considerable joy while engaging in activities outside.

Indeed, it is an exquisite vehicle; but, one must account for the associated operating expenses. As previously noted, it is a costly automobile that incorporates advanced technology, which can be expensive to repair. I have observed CL500s with ABC suspension issues being sold for a nominal price.I would still appreciate one, however!

Thank you for your assistance. I will undertake all feasible maintenance. What constitutes the ABC? The vehicle will possess minimal mileage, hence it is expected to achieve 50,000 kilometres with relative ease.

The ABC, or Active Body Control Suspension system, is an advanced hydraulic suspension mechanism that utilises sensors, hydraulic pumps, and filters. Malfunctions can trigger numerous warning lights on the dashboard, lead to suspension failure, or default to sports mode, resulting in a harsh ride. These issues typically stem from leaks, insufficient fluid levels, and obstructed filters, all indicative of inadequate maintenance.

My S Class is equipped with Airmatic suspension, which operates with compressed air, and the struts alone cost over one thousand dollars each.I am taking a risk by substituting a pair with less expensive replacements, but each time I have attempted this previously, the car has caused me problems.
