DaisyDrift
Hello, I appreciate any assistance with this matter, as I am now at a loss and incurring significant expenses at the garage. The vehicle has accumulated 108,000 miles. While travelling on the highway last week, it abruptly shut down, resulting in a steering lock. The car currently would not start. When trying to start the automobile, the engine revs barely reach around 200 RPM and it fails to ignite. The only issue with the vehicle pertains to the Cam Position sensor, which has been changed; yet, the problem persists. The garage has indicated that the camshaft is not making any effort to rotate at starting. I am reluctant to continue using funds and am inclined to mitigate my losses. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Thank you one again.
PixelTonic
It seems that the timing chain has fractured.
DaisyDrift
Indeed, as I had anticipated. The RAC representative first said that, upon further inspection and attempting to start the vehicle, he concluded that the chain was functioning properly; the specific sounds he was monitoring remain unclear to me. I am located in Norwich, hence apart from others.

BrambleBurt
One more unit on the chain. Seek a more competent garage; I doubt that the current one has the requisite knowledge. Did the steering lock engage while the vehicle was turned off and still in motion?
