AmericaMonster
Greetings to everyone. I just acquired a delightful W212 E350, however I have seen a somewhat bothersome little problem. When travelling at regular speeds, everything functions well; but, at speeds below 10 mph, it attempts to engage the park mode. I cannot audibly detect its vigorous engagement, however it appears on the clock; see to the attached picture. Based on my study, it seems that the issue may be related to the electronic ignition switch (EIS). I am seeking your confirmation on this matter. The photograph below depicts the automobile at rest. All comments is welcome. Thank you very much

bellox
It has identified a vacancy and is enquiring whether you like to park in it. 😀
AmericaMonster
It is unclear if this is a serious statement or not. If you are, I will evaluate this tomorrow!
PopeyeR
If you are referencing the P in the square at the bottom left of the speedometer, it signifies that the parking sensors are operational and assessing if there is a sufficient space to park. It vanishes upon accelerating.
Seconsu
If you are referencing the P in a square located in the bottom left, then yes, it indicates that the vehicle is use the side-facing parking sensors in the front bumper to search for a parking place. Your model seems to be of the same generation as mine, hence it cannot autonomously manoeuvre into a parking place; but, it will display directions on the dashboard indicating when to turn left and right when reversing. I have not personally used it, however the owner's handbook will provide comprehensive information.
AmericaMonster
Unbelievable. The incident occurred between roundabouts on a dual carriageway, prompting me to immediately consider the worst-case scenario. Greetings, everyone! The mind is somewhat more at peace now. Racerse
I questioned the purpose of the P indicator on my dashboard. I am uncertain whether it is functioning as intended; my device remains activated at speeds below around 10 mph, regardless of whether I am parked. engrol
Is it only indicating that the parking sensors are operational? The telltale on my dashboard activates at speeds below 15 MPH.
bellox
If you are aware, you are aware. 👍 However, Maintain a speed below 20mph to enable the PARKTRONIC® system with Active Parking Assist to identify a parking space for you. The sensors will activate when your Mercedes-Benz identifies a suitable adjacent parking place, indicated by an arrow. Engage the vehicle in reverse; it will then enquire whether you want to activate the Parking Pilot. Press "Ok" on the steering wheel to begin. Gradually reduce pressure on the accelerator and use the brake as necessary to initiate the reverse manoeuvre into the parking space. Your Mercedes-Benz will autonomously manage the steering wheel. Adhere to the PARKTRONIC® with Active Parking Assist instructions to determine whether to shift the vehicle into drive or reverse. Upon reaching the designated location and aligning the vehicle, your Mercedes-Benz will indicate "Finished," allowing you to shift the car into park. To park on the passenger side, you must use the indicators and maintain a speed of 10 mph.

engrol
The model in question is the 213; the OP and I own the 212, which lacks self-steering capabilities.
Inspirli
My vehicle is a 2015 S212, which has the capability of self-parking; however, my previous 20120 S212 lacked this technology.
bellox
It pertains to any model to which it is applied. My 212 E350 is self-steering. How would you know? You have only acquired this knowledge nonetheless. 😀😀
Seconsu
Based on recollection, and considering it has been a decade since I used a pre-facelift W212, Parking Assist would signify a prospective parking space on the left side of the vehicle as you gradually pass a location by putting a triangle next to the left of the 'P' inside a box symbol. Cease movement and engage the vehicle in reverse. The system will enquire if you want to activate Parking Assist: hit OK to proceed. The display will thereafter show the direction to steer when you remove the brake. It will also indicate when to cease and engage Drive before subsequently directing the appropriate steering direction. The procedure continues until you have successfully parallel parked. The system will identify a parking space to the right of the vehicle, but only when the right turn signal is activated while gradually approaching a possible opening. The subsequent models, including the facelifted W212, have Active Parking Assist, which autonomously steers during parking manoeuvres and can detect and automatically reverse into a perpendicular parking space.
