Kiddokt
Greetings, everyone. I own a 2019 Mercedes e400d 4matic saloon equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels. The tyres installed adhere to the specifications provided by Mercedes, with sizes of 245/35/20 and 275/30/20. I believe that the tyre profile is too low and the tyres seem to be stretched as a result of using 20-inch AMG replica wheels with widths of 8.5j and 9.5j for the front and rear correspondingly. I would want to replace my current tyres with ones that have the dimensions of 245/40/20 for the front and 275/35/20 for the rear. Is this feasible or will it damage my car? Any guidance would be very appreciated and maybe beneficial to others as well.
bourhay
Were the wheels included as part of the original factory configuration of the automobile, or were they added as an aftermarket accessory? Are these tyre sizes the same as the original ones?

Angurita
The present tyres on your vehicle are the sizes that have been officially certified by Mercedes and AMG for 8J/9J rims. Below, you will find a list of Brabus alternatives available in 8.5J/9.5J that you may want to consider: https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/information/fitting_chart/mercedes-benz
Kiddokt
These products are not original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and are instead aftermarket.
Kiddokt
Appreciation is extended. I possess 8.5 joules and 9.5 joules. Essentially, in order to go from the certified Mercedes alloys to the brabus arrangement, it would be necessary to replace all four tyres on my present alloy. Will this have any impact on the 4matic system?
Kiddokt
The existing rear tyres on my vehicle are 9.5j alloy with a size of 275/30/20. They seem to be stretched. If I were to choose the first highlighted option, which is 255/35/20 for a 9.5j alloy, wouldn't that result in an even more stretched tyre as the width of the tyre is shorter for the same alloy size? Kiddokt
The front alloy of my vehicle has an offset of 38 millimetres and a 10 millimetre spacer was added to provide room for the brake calliper. The back alloy has an offset of et45 and is fitted with a 5mm spacer.
Angurita
The first Brabus configuration used 255/35 tyres for both the front and back, despite a 1-inch variation in rim diameter. This seems questionable. The second option, which has a rear tyre size of 285/30, is more logical. The provided offsets are ET40 for the front wheels and ET45 for the rear wheels, which is almost identical to the offsets of your rims. Therefore, I am surprised that you need spacers. Did you purchase the automobile in its present condition?
Thenornpo
combined with 275/30/20. Are correct for your automobile , with 8.5 and 9.5 j rims.
Kiddokt
The back portion was in good condition. I inserted the spacers even though they were not necessary, since the front seemed broader than the rear. Initially, a 5mm offset was installed in the front, resulting in a very little gap. To address this, the garage adjusted it to a 10mm offset. As my car is the e400d 4matic model, it comes with the larger Mercedes callipers as standard on the front wheels. Indeed, I have simply made the modification of adding the replica AMG alloys. Kiddokt
Indeed, I will provide a photograph of the wheels, which will clearly demonstrate that the tyre is stretched and does not align properly with the surface of the alloy. As a result of this stretching, the rim protection fails to adequately safeguard the rim. Additionally, the tyre appears excessively thin and disproportionate in relation to the car, raising concerns about its susceptibility to cracking
Kiddokt
I am experiencing tyre skipping while turning the steering wheel fully, and I believe that the probable source of this issue might be tyre stretching.
Thenornpo
4MATIC is a notable feature. I am filled with fear. I recommend purchasing the appropriate 19-inch wheels and equipping them with all-season tyres such as Crossclimates.
Kiddokt
I previously had the 19-inch wheels without any problems. However, I decided to switch to the AMG 20-inch wheels since I find their appearance more appealing.
