Can someone identify the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve in the picture of my BMW 120d e82 2010 M Sport?

Greetings

Can someone identify the EGR valve in the picture of my BMW 120d e82 2010 m sport with an N47 engine?

 


I conducted a search on the YouTube platform.The EGR valve on the 120d e82 has a distinct appearance like that of a flying saucer. The EGR cooler refers to the larger metallic block that is coloured silver.


Could someone identify the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve in the picture below? If you are able to encircle it or provide a description, I would really appreciate it.

Seeking to remove it and thoroughly clean it.

Is it worthwhile to remove it and clean it thoroughly?
The odometer now reads 129,000 km. As I approach the 7,000 kilometre mark, I want to do an oil and filter change and also inspect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system.

Can anybody suggest any other cleaning methods for removing soot?

Cleaning the intake manifold is recommended, unless there are problems with the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, in which case it may not be necessary to clean. I haven't quantified them specifically to get highly stimulated by cocaine. Rather, I notice the accumulation in the cooler and ingest.

Is accessing, removing and cleaning the intake manifold and cooler a particularly challenging task? The only instance in which I have performed any cleaning related to the EGR system was on a previous vehicle, namely a 2006 E90 model.

Regrettably, in my occupation, I often engage in several brief trips and encounter frequent stops due to traffic congestion. I regularly provide a bi-monthly treatment of Wynn diesel injector cleaner to it, in addition to taking it on frequent motorway drives.

After removing the plastic scuttle trim from the manifold, it is quite simple to remove a boost pipe, a few wire connectors, a plastic bracket for the engine harness, and then 7 or 8 10mm head bolts.
Removing the cooler is a straightforward process, but it will result in the loss of coolant. Therefore, it is advisable to keep sufficient G48 coolant on hand for refilling purposes. Prioritise removing the manifold before the cooler, as this will facilitate the removal of the cooler and allow for simpler reinstallation of the cooler. The most challenging aspect is when the two T45 bolts get stuck in the exhaust manifold.

Using the EGR, remove the black cover and ensure that it is not adhering if desired.
However, like Johnny said, if there are no issues, it is best to keep everything as it is.
