PopeyeR
Greetings to everybody, Since the very beginning, I have found the boot release button on my E90 to be perplexing. I have seen that it works intermittently, however just by inadvertent occurrences when fumbling for my keys. Therefore, I am unable to provide a definitive explanation of the method used. Depressing a single key has no effect. The alarm was triggered by many activations or maybe by continuously pressing it down. In any case, the boot fails to open. I have tested both key fobs, therefore confirming that none of them is defective. Although I have never been very troubled by it, I am now interested in acquiring a pair of Emerald Struts and using its functionality. Thank you in advance
NarrativePsych
To unlock the automobile, press and hold the button for a duration of 2 to 3 seconds. The e46 model would allow access to the automobile even while it is locked, however the e90 model does not have this feature.
PopeyeR
It seems that I have been encountering difficulty since I have been doing the task with the automobile in a locked state, but it should be opened. Thank you, I will try it soon.
NarrativePsych
I owned the BMW E46, whereas my friend had the BMW E90. He inquired about the functioning of the device, to which I responded by instructing him to press and hold the button for a little duration, similar to how I operate mine. Furthermore, I demonstrated the operation of my device to him. Attempted the same procedure on his vehicle, but, it proved ineffective, leading us to conclude that there was a defect specific to his automobile. After a span of 2 years, I purchased his automobile and one day, while casually experimenting with it, I inadvertently hit the boot button, causing it to open unexpectedly. Subsequently, I saw that the automobile was not secured, prompting me to attempt the action once again. This is how I discovered that it only functions on the e90 model when it is in an unlocked state.
NarrativePsych
It is unclear why they made the adjustment, since it would be more advantageous if one simply wanted to place anything in the trunk.
MaxiBroadway
An unfortunate incident occurred when my F31 330d's electronic tailboard unexpectedly opened while the vehicle was locked. This incident took place at 11pm, and as a result, an individual passing by felt compelled to alert us by knocking on our door. I must have inadvertently activated it while it was in my pocket, prompting me to inquire whether we were aware of the situation.
PopeyeR
I had not considered that aspect, but indeed, it is logical to include measures to avoid unintended access.
NarrativePsych
I had never considered that possibility, but I have never placed keys in my pocket.
