Samuraisaint
Greetings, everyone. As I couldn't find a relevant discussion, I decided to seek help from knowledgeable individuals. After doing a diagnostic on the automobile, I have identified the following problem code and diagnosis: P244A7A - The pressure difference in the dpf cylinder bank 1 is insufficient. Identification of faulty seal leakage discovered. Aside from taking it to a technician, which is now not feasible due to it being Sunday and my impatience, what is the precise course of action to do with this situation? Although I am not an expert in mechanics, I do realise that short travels are not ideal for a vehicle's performance. However, it is worth noting that this particular vehicle tends to have more short excursions than lengthy ones. Is it advisable to go on an extended drive to assess the issue, or should I promptly take the vehicle to a repair and restrict further driving? Any guidance or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
AmericaMonster
Firstly, I am not aware of the information... Does your diagnostic tool has real-time data capabilities? If such is the case, I would examine the readings of the corresponding diesel particulate filter (DPF) pressure sensor while the car's engine is running. Additionally, I would observe the readings while the throttle is pressed. Next, do a comparison with the expected values. If there is no indication, it is possible that the sensor has malfunctioned and requires replacement. Certain diagnostic instruments have the capability to do a forced regeneration of the dpf. It may be worthwhile to explore this option. However, it is advisable to wait for someone with expertise in this area to provide more informed guidance. Samuraisaint
Thank you for your response... undeniable veracity I own the necessary equipment, but I lack knowledge or expertise. However, we all have to begin somewhere, and it is a decent piece of equipment called the Topdon Artidiag500. I have only used it once to identify a failure in the wheel speed sensor, and it has already shown to be cost-effective. After gaining access to the diagnostic tool, I discovered that it does indeed provide real-time data, namely the values of...

AmericaMonster
I concur with your assumption, my friend. It is possible that the sensor has malfunctioned. Which automobile model?
Samuraisaint
It would be logical or rational. If there were a leak, there would be some indication of a reading, even if it is little. Simply investigating the level of difficulty involved in making a change. I have already spent $3,500 on it inside the last several months. One would expect that it will now offer me some respite. It is a manual W204 C250. There is one additional sensor to include in the bill, and it is hoped that there will be no more additions beyond this. AmericaMonster
Rapid Google seems to cost about Β£50 and I haven't seen the whole video, but I believe the following link demonstrates how to replace it. Β
Samuraisaint
I recently seen the video as well π€£ and it doesn't seem like a very difficult task. My car is a 2012 model, so it may not be the exact same as the one you're referring to, but it should give you a general sense of what to anticipate. Thank you for your assistance and contribution. I much appreciate it. ππ»
AmericaMonster
I hope that resolves the issue. Yes, it is somewhat inconvenient to change that particular component.
Samuraisaint
Requesting feedback from anybody who can provide an update. After clearing the fault code, I briefly drove the vehicle (while dropping off my child at school) and decided to take advantage of the cleared fault to see whether there were any pressure readings. Since there was no indication of a malfunction yesterday, the fact that a reading is now being shown leads me to question if the sensor is indeed damaged, since it seems to be able to take a reading. π€¦π»ββοΈ The engine light did not illuminate throughout the little journey, so I am now uncertain if I should continue driving and wait to see if it illuminates again. AmericaMonster
Could you please provide the recorded data from the sensor? To be honest, if the issue has been resolved, not returned, and the sensor is now displaying live readings, I would recommend taking the vehicle for a thorough drive at slightly higher than usual RPMs. Alternatively, some people suggest doing a "Italian tune up," which involves using a commercially available DPF cleaning and filling up with high-quality Shell premium diesel fuel. Adv3nture
Β£3,500 The user expresses pain or discomfort. Discard it and get a late model c180 petrol 204.
Samuraisaint
The gearbox malfunctioned and requires repair, while the engine mounts, clutch, and fuel mass all need attention. The list of sensors installed on the automobiles has been thoroughly mapped, with just 76,000 units completed. There is no intention of discarding or scrapping them at this point, as shown by the use of the "π€£π€£" emojis. Excellent suggestion, however. Samuraisaint
I have had difficulties in uploading the photographs. However, while the vehicle was still, the pressure gauge indicated a reading of 0 bar. During a brief drive around the block, when the vehicle did not exceed second gear, the pressure gauge registered a value of 0.3 bar. I will do an extended experiment to observe the outcome, while simultaneously operating the machine to capture the data during the process. ππ»
