Vehicle unlock difficulties.

Level 4 Niro 72-plate HEV. The wife stepped out in her Nero hairstyle today. Upon returning to the Nero, the key fob failed to unlock it. same outcome, no matter how many times I try. The 'connect' app let me access the car after she called, although at first it would only open the trunk. The doors finally unlocked when I re-locked and unlocked them a second time, however the mirrors remained closed. Upon entering, the vehicle started automatically, without the need to use the 12v button or anything of the like. Is anyone else having this problem and knows what happened or how to repair it? Swap out the key fob's battery.

Without fail, I avoid this problem by replacing the batteries in my key fob every two years. Use your spare key instead, but keep in mind that it will also drain the battery even when not in use.

The actual key that is concealed in the key fob can always be used to open the vehicle.

If the fob battery is low, then something is wrong. If the vehicle is reacting to the connect app, it's quite unlikely that the problem is with the 12V system.
