Changing the suspension of a w202 C240 from elegant to sport

Although I like the 1999 C240 elegance's comfortable ride, I'm not a huge fan of how high it sits. Several variants of the C240 have caught my eye; for example, the sport version appears to have a lower seating position than the elegance version.
Is it easy to switch over the elegance setup for the sports setup? What adjustments would be necessary in that case? Also, how would the level of comfort during the voyage change?
I'm not trying to get too low; rather, I'd like to make a little adjustment to my posture and handling while still being quite comfortable.

I would be grateful for any advice you could provide me.

Hi

For a variety of ride heights, consider standard lowering springs for your vehicle.

Checking the spring pads is another possibility; I've seen versions where the springs were the same but the pads under them were of varying sizes (but don't take my word for it).

This allows you to drop between 5–15 mm while maintaining the same level of ride quality.

That's great. Look through the parts catalogues for both your specification and a comparable Sport or Avantgarde from the same year and engine size. I think the only thing that could be different are the springs, but you never know. You may tell the owner what to order by comparing part numbers.

I'm in favour of swapping out the springs with sport or avantgarde ones.

If you are unsure of what you need and happen to live near a Mercedes dealership, I recommend visiting their parts counter. Provide them with your car's year and specifications, and enquire as to whether there is a different part number of spring available for the Avantgarde spec version of that same year. Write down the part number and purchase them (not necessarily from the dealership). If you already have a spring compressor tool, all you need to do is find a garage and have them replace them out.
Is your vehicle equipped with standard steel front and rear springs? Some models may have air springs in the back, which may be easily identified by removing the rear wheel.
