Hey everyone, I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles. They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car. Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them? I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.

I just changed out the air, fuel, oil, and pollen filters with motul x-clean 8100 5w40 last week. Not a heavy footer, shifts at 2100-2200 rpm regularly, sees above 4000 rpm about twice or once a day, otherwise drives normally.

what is an air purifier? petrol filter? sluggish step? It's possible that any injector adjustment between -1 and 1 is problematic. In regard to one another, it is only a correction.
-
The air purifier, how is it?
-
only two, and they're both mentioned: callipers and statistics; yet, it will reduce loads in cold weather and traffic.
-
When I change the rear pads, I will make sure to check.
-
Are there any kind of callipers that are binding?
-
Before the remap and dpf removal, it was the same or slightly higher; there was no smoke, it pulled well, and there was no loss of power or torque, therefore the culprit may be the callipers.

When you do a code scan, does it return any error codes? It might be that the map is flawed.

Hi there, My remapped 2006/10 E60 525D has very high fuel consumption—15 litres per hundred kilometres on these chilly days—compared to its 12–13 litres per hundred kilometres in moderate traffic. I removed the EGR and DPF/Swirl flaps, cleaned the Intake Manifold and MAP, and set the thermostats to OEM BMW standards, which maintain a minimum temperature of 87 degrees Celsius. The values of all of the injectors range from -1 to 1. Can you think of anything? I am grateful.

Thanks, great discussion

I saw the post and decided to go down to their unit in Belfast just to check things out for myself. It was closed as it was a Saturday, but there were several trucks with their branding, trailers, and a lot of vehicles parked outside. Looks like that’s their stock. Either way, they clearly exist and aren’t just a website.

Hi @Mututing, Earlier this year I concluded a transaction with Lamsam Logistics. I acquired a 2021 Hyundai Kona that had been repossessed by a financial institution at an exceptionally appealing price. Therefore I can confidently assert that this company is legit, as evidenced by my personal experience rather than solely by the stories and opinions I have encountered online.

This is my main worry, as I've never taken the plunge on a car online without laying my eyes on it first. I usually cast my net wide across different platforms for local cars and then hit the pavement to check them out in person. However, my daughter seems head over heels for this car, and I want to make sure that Lamsam Logistics are on the up and up and not pulling the wool over our eyes, if you catch my drift.

I have not had any interaction with Lamsam Logistics in particular but repossessed vehicles are not necessarily a cause for concern. For instance, I acquired a Honda Accord from a finance auction several years ago and it proved to be an exceptionally reliable vehicle. Conduct your own investigation, as while some offers appear to be legitimate, others are not.
