Service expenses for the 2026 Sportage HEV

Considering the purchase of a service plan and seeking to ascertain the cost without it.

Snows Guildford provided a quotation of £308 inclusive for the first option and £480 including for the second option.

Labour for the First task is 1 hour at £186 per hour, inclusive, and for the Second task, it is 2 hours.

The initial service comprises an oil and filter replacement along with inspections, while the subsequent service entails a brake fluid replacement.

£122 for oil and filter appears exorbitant for the initial service. They stated that 0W-20 oil is costly.

Has anyone attempted to provide their own oil?

Consulted the Kia website, which indicates that the 2022 Sportage features the NQ5 1.6 Gamma II (γ) T-GDI, including HEV and PHEV variants. Petrol 4.8L API SN PLUS / SP 0W20 TotalEnergies Quartz 9000 HKR GF6A 0W-30

I acknowledge that this is a Sorento, not a Sportage; but, I am preparing to renew mine for its third or fourth service, and it is detailed as follows.

ABSENCE OF A STRATEGY:

Third Service £409 Fourth Service £533
2 × MOT 26/27 at £54.84 each Total: £1,051.70

WITH STRATEGY:

£779.00 including MOTs

Thus, a savings of about £300.

This is the EMAC strategy through Kia.

I possess a service plan that will expire in February following my third service. I have enquired with the dealer regarding a fourth and fifth service plan with Emac and have received a quotation of £889, which includes two MOTs.
Is this quote worth removing?
