Power steering malfunction

I appear to be posting excessively for my preference. Essentially, my partner is experiencing a power steering problem that is intermittent; it manifests primarily during slow speeds and steep turns. At times, the issue persists, while at other times, it resolves itself. No codes are stored on the computer either. Her explanation is: "It indicates that there are no codes, and the warning appears when the vehicle is moving slowly and I am making a sharp turn, or when I have just started the car."

Assistance is welcomed. The vehicle is a 2010 BMW 320d Cabriolet, which I believe is equipped with electronic power steering.

I believe the alternator is functioning adequately; nevertheless, I will do a test on it either tomorrow or Wednesday. If the alternator is indeed satisfactory, do you have any suggestions regarding the potential issue?

It is probable that the battery has deteriorated, if the illuminated indicator is orange rather than red. At low revolutions and with the alternator not operating at full capacity, rapidly twisting the steering wheel causes the power steering system to draw from the battery for assistance. If the battery is degraded, this may temporarily illuminate the warning light.

There is no cause for concern; however, a new winter battery or a complete maintenance charge will likely resolve the issue.

I replaced the battery last week with a new one and registered it as well. The BMW and all associated technology are functioning well. What voltage should I expect to observe on the battery during charging? What constitutes adequacy for the vehicle, essentially?
