Darthilli
My EML illuminated when I was driving. I own a 2018 C220D saloon. Approximately 90,000 miles. It was taken to a mechanic where a diagnostic examination revealed a NOC sensor code. The EML has been deactivated and is no longer visible. Is this prevalent? Is it possible that the NOC sensor has an intermittent fault?
AmericaMonster
I assume you are referring to the NOX sensor.

AmericaMonster
It may be sporadic until it becomes consistently operational, I suppose. Utilize new AdBlue if the existing supply is older than about 12 months.
Darthilli
The AdBlue is under six months old. It is likely advisable to persist in driving until it reactivates.
Videoman
Hello, have you received any recall information on the vehicle?
Darthilli
I am not aware of that. What is the reason for your inquiry? How would I ascertain whether there was?
Videoman
If you have a recall, it is most likely for a NOx sensor, which should be addressed free of charge by Mercedes. I had mine completed, although I was unaware of the recall until I checked online for its MOT, since the previous owner had not addressed it. Notef
NOx sensors exhibit an occasional problem; nonetheless, based on my experience, I assume their functioning is at the threshold of arbitrarily defined software settings. Having changed the NOx sensors on my C350 three times, I no longer pursue this issue. For the last five years, I have just dismissed the error code upon its annual occurrence and proceeded without any complications. I believe that the recorded NOx levels sometimes above the designated threshold, triggering the code. The program has not been designed to address this unforeseen error, instead mistakenly resorting to a need for sensor replacement. I would want to ascertain the number of replacement sensors that have undergone appropriate testing rather than being discarded. Undoubtedly, Bosch or any other manufacturer would not advocate for an action that may result in significant financial losses from new sensor sales.
