BrambleBurt
Greetings to everyone. How is everyone doing? May I request some assistance, please? 2013 W204 C220 CDI front driver door panel. I stopped at the store on my way home today, and the inside door handle was nonfunctional, only oscillating back and forth. I must open the window to get the outside door handle. Are the clips on the panel standard? Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen? Additionally. Can I use the vehicle without the panel after it is removed? To assess the issue and see whether I can resolve it within a few days, including the necessary parts and related components. The last time I took a panel was some years ago, on a BMW 5. Thank you, everyone, for your assistance.
Captiva
If the door card resembles that of a W211 E-Class, the window control switch is affixed to it, making exit from the vehicle cumbersome if the door release remains inoperative. Exercise caution to avoid damaging the ribbon cable when detaching the door card. I anticipate that the inner door handle release wire has either fractured or gotten disconnected. An easy task to rectify. Utilize a plastic trim removal tool to prevent the clips from breaking. No information on the similarity of other brands. Procure more clips prior to commencing. Workerat
Defective interior door knobs are a recognized issue on 204 models. Repair kits are easily accessible on eBay and similar platforms.
BrambleBurt
Thank you for your response and the link you provided. Indeed, I saw it just before I sought your assistance about the issue. Previously, I used a metallic tool like a flathead screwdriver, but with a V shape and angled design; the key characteristic is its metallic composition. I just purchased a plastic set from Amazon for around β¬15, including shipping. I intended to consult the Mercedes dealer in Limerick, Ireland, about the pricing for many clips. On Saturday, attempt to remove it and hope that a cable or rod, similar to those seen in vintage vehicles, has detached. However, I can only see things as fractured or damaged. Until I see it, it is only conjecture. I believe my father worked on a W210, perhaps a W211, long ago and described it as a nightmare to reassemble. There is always something. I previously bought a lower control arm and an anti-roll bar connection from one of my preferred automotive parts retailers, Autodoc. BrambleBurt
You are well. Indeed, affirmative. Do you believe that the door handle itself has broken, and that the cable or rod has detached from it? The handle is easily removable and replaceable. Thank you very much.
BrambleBurt
I just reviewed a discussion on reddit.com on the w204 issue. An individual said that the problem pertains to the door handle, which has a plastic clip that secures the cable and is susceptible to breaking. The issue described by the individual seems to be identical to mine.
BrambleBurt
My sister, who owns a W205, had a malfunction with her window regulator, which her boyfriend repaired. However, she spoke well with me this evening and said that her passenger side is malfunctioning. Thank you, everyone.

BrambleBurt
Thank you for efficiently locating the information for me. As I said, I will examine my and thereafter buy the same finish. Thank you very much. This is likely one of the quickest responses I have ever had about a vehicle issue, so I appreciate that as well. I will respond tomorrow when I have assessed the quality of my door handle (gloss or matte). Thumbs up. Thumbs up. Thank you, everyone. I will return. π
BrambleBurt
How are you doing? Merely a trivial change. I contacted the Mercedes dealer; the panel clips for all nine are β¬27, including VAT. I received four. My door knobs are matte in color. I acquired two, one for each front door, from Autodoc. The 3RG brand includes what seems to be six screws and an additional item. I first believed they were an alloy, but I now suspect they are plastic. I will return to provide an update. Thank you.
BrambleBurt
I removed the driver door panel; the video provided by the individual is excellent. The door doorknob was broken. I used a drill bit, but not the drill machine, to sever the plastic rivets. Consider everything that I accomplished in 2021-2022; the door handle was accompanied by 20 washers. I conducted a brief search and obtained two or three items. Removed the handle panel from the main panel. To detach the damaged handle, it is necessary to drill out the handle spindle or rivet, which is a challenging task. The most effective method I used was to utilize a hacksaw to remove the door handle, which subsequently revealed the spindle or rivet. This allowed for direct drilling. Inserted the replacement handle, drilled the screw holes in the door panel, reinstalled it in the vehicle, and it works perfectly. I took my time. 11:30 until 18:00, with a thirty-minute intermission. It might have been accomplished more swiftly, although... No clips were broken; everything functions properly and is reassembled as if I had never been there. Thank you everyone for your assistance and time. Wishing you a nice weekend. The Glastonbury Festival is occurring.pulp now. Exercise caution when driving. and converse with you once again.
