Any of these vendors in Germany should be capable of assisting; I have engaged with everyone of them at some point. This crossover vehicle has certain facelift attributes; nonetheless, it retains pre-facelift doors with quarterlights, necessitating the use of earlier-style mirrors. In German, "mirror" is "Spiegel," "doors" are "Türen," and "left" and "right" are "links" and "rechts," respectively, when consulting German component lists. If you require additional German translations, please enquire.

They typically employ people proficient in English for telephone enquiries.

Both items seem to be accessible and in stock with SLS as previously mentioned; "außenspiegel" translates to outdoor or external mirror. They also provide spare glass on both sides of the mirror, as well as the holding gasket, if required. The description does not specify if these items are new old stock, reproductions, or refurbished used, although they appear to be in excellent shape. Your friend must drill holes in his door to install them, necessitating precise positioning. The mirror should be positioned slightly behind the back edge of the quarterlight, allowing the quarterlight to open beyond it and ensuring visibility of the mirror through the main door glass.

Enquire about shipping to the United Kingdom.
I trust this information is beneficial.

Having owned vehicles of similar type when they were new, as well as very older models, I find the costs to be rather reasonable.

This is my 1970 W114 220/8, a pre-facelift model featuring the elevated grille, enhanced air scoop, and operable quarterlights in the doors. My father purchased it new and installed the wing mirrors, but I would have liked door mirrors. My father bestowed the automobile upon me following my successful driving test, which provided him with a rationale to acquire a new W123 250 in Maple Yellow, recently released.

This seems to be the appropriate right side mirror for that vehicle; nevertheless, there are two complications:

These mirrors resemble those installed on my W114 saloon, as well as the W116 and W123 models; they are affixed to a little triangular part at the bottom front corner of the one-piece door window, rather than being mounted on the glass itself. Another thing to consider is that, although your friend's vehicle is a left-hand drive (LHD) model, the mirrors differ between LHD and right-hand drive (RHD) cars due to the varying angles of the frames, which are designed for visibility by drivers seated on the left or right side. I am confident that the one below is intended for a left-hand drive vehicle, considering the dealer is located in Germany.

It is uncertain how your friend would accommodate that form of mirror onto his vehicle; he will likely want an alternative quarterlight glass with a cutout for the mirror, as well as a potential mounting bracket. I have never encountered a coupe featuring that sort of mirror, only the previous design depicted above. A buddy of mine in Glasgow possesses a W114 coupe, 280CE, right-hand drive, with quarterlights and the older design mirrors. A mirror designed for a right-hand drive vehicle will not be compatible with a left-hand drive vehicle; although it may be physically affixed, the angle will not accommodate a driver positioned on the left. I do not intend to sound overly pessimistic, but I also do not want your friend to purchase an ineffective item. It is advisable to contact Niemoller and clarify that your acquaintance possesses a vehicle that has never been equipped with a passenger side mirror, enquiring about the necessary components for its installation. I had previously contacted them, and they do converse in English; their proficiency in English surpassed my German, despite my having spent a year in Germany and acquiring a considerable amount of the language!

I apologise, but I have been unsuccessful in locating the additional components for that mirror. I believe you will require an alternative right side quarterlight glass, featuring a cut-out for the mirror, as well as potentially a fitting bracket.

I must commence work immediately, but I shall return later this evening. I will ascertain whether I can locate this model in the EPC, which may provide additional details—and maybe numerous unavailable components!

The diagram below illustrates the coupe doors, with opening quarterlights; this is sourced from the old M-B parts catalogue, hence components depicted may not be accessible.

Another potential source is the M-B Oldtimer Centre, which occasionally recycles components from dismantled vehicles; however, ensure you are seated prior to reviewing their costs!

The diagram below illustrates the components required by your friend. By consulting the diagram and the corresponding item numbers, you can reference the parts list below to obtain the M-B part numbers. It is highly unlikely that these parts are still in stock, but you may enquire with your dealer or send a copy of this to Niemoller to determine if they can assist with the glass featuring the cutout, as well as the small brackets necessary for the mirror.
